Who is >35yo and does NOT take any supplements?
Besides a multivitamin...are their any >35yo that do not take any supplements?
I'm just curious because at my gym, I notice all the younger guys take a boat load of supplements, but I dont see it that often with 'older' men & women.

I very recently started taking a oneAday and fish oil. That's it, plus occasional ibuprofen.
I am researching other supplements, but am fearful of literally pissing money away on "snake oil".

I have supps coming out my ass (no homo).
BCAA powder, BCAA capsules, Whey protein at home, Dextrose, Whey protein at work, No Xplode, Glutamine, CEE, Multi (no geritol), Fish oils, B-12, Calcium citrate with magnesium and zinc.
On this website, you gotta get the rep. points first. Then when you get the rep. points, you get the power...then when you get the power, then you get the women.
Is it better to be loved or have bb.com rep points? That's a good question. It's great to be both, but it's very difficult. But if I had my choice, I would rather have bb.com rep points. BB.com rep points last longer than love.

my thoughts exactly, except I don't research, and think 99.999999999% of them are snake oil

And this ^ is exactly how these threads (yeah, been done about a zillion times before) end up going.
They start looking like this;
"No, I don't believe in supps. Real food is better. Most everything out there is BS and a waste of money. All I take is fish oil. And a multi. Oh, and BCAAs. And of course, whey, but I don't count that. And L-glutamine is natural, so I don't really count that either. Since beta-alanine is found in chicken etc., I don't really count that one either. And only L-Lysine sometimes to make sure I don't get cold sores from L-Arginine. Wait, did I already mention I take NO products pre-workout? Well, OK, I do. But that's all. Really. Hey, you wouldn't count caffeine would you?"
Just sayin'........

I started my massive supplement regimen just last week- ya rly- , before that, went about twenty years with no supplements, so I decided to vote "no".
Hope that didn't skew the vote too much.

I just love to eat so I believe I'm getting what I need.
Also, I've always been paranoid of fcuking with my hormonal balance and digestion. I thank the powers that be that I'm still blessed with excellent energy levels and athletic abilities at this point in my life. Simply can't afford to screw that up.
I certainly don't pooh on supplements (I may need them at some point). They're just not for me...yet.

depends at what stage i'm in......training hard or lazy dayz. when training hard, muscle milk in am, vitamin with lunch, mri black powder before training, and mri pro nos after training. then fish oil with dinner. sometimes muscle milk before bed, if i did extra cardio at track or mau tia boxing that day. i don't think any of it is snake oil, i think all those help with training and recovery. but of course good nutition is more important than the supps. everyone gets different results. i have never used any pro hormones or testostrone boosters, but most of the over 35 guys that i've heard from say the test. boosters on the market are crap....but all the young guys rave about them, but i think their getting the placebo effect.
Always late to the party.

I am a big fan of Creatine and Glutamine. I have found that when I begin to plateau these will bang me into then next level. Not like being on the juice or anything but at least the gains begin to come back, where it is not the same weight moved week after week.
If you want to do something you will find a way and if you don't, you will find an excuse.

When I was 27-28 I took ALOT of supplements. In my fridge, I had a shelf full of them.
But since then I havent with the exception of getting a free tub of Super Pump 250 a couple of months ago. I tried that for about a week against my better judgment and tossed the rest out.

I used to get that when I used to eat like a pig and work out like a nut. It means nothing. there's kids at my gym now that are huge for the weight they lift...it means nothing also. It's nice to have that look and tell people NO but its a pain in the ass to have them doubt your honesty...its the only time I would 'rage'
Currently, I take nothing, mainly because I'm not desperate to transform my body. I take some ephedra here and there for an energy or metabolism boost but very rarely (1-2x/week).

I can so relate to trying to get back where you were at before injury. I had my BF tested last night and it came in at 12% which is about what I expected. I was 196lbs. Not so bad considering all I have been through in the last few years. At my peak I was probably around 205 at the same BF level. Making it back slowly but surely. I have not done a bulk yet I have just focused on clean eating and lifting counting on muscle memory.
I dont make excuses but I have some kind of inflamation disorder/disease whatever you want to call it. I never get a really good diagnosis either. One doctor thought I had cancer. Another lupus. Another Fibromialiga. Ever so often I get pretty sick. I am sure the doctors would have thought I was a nut job if my blood sed rate was not over 100. I also dont think I imagined an extra set of knuckles on my hands, feet, knees, elbows, etc. I spent over 3 years did countless tests, had surgery, spent over 10K and still never got a good answer from any doctor so I gave up. Just said fck it and gave up. My doctor was trying to line up a visit for me to Baylor Medical Center when I moved from Texas. They would only see me when during what he called an episode so I could not just walk in.
Well feel better now that I got that off my chest.
Anyway on Supps:
Multi
Whey
Fish Oil
White Flood - every now and then pre work out.
I also take Lodine which is a perscription anti inflamatory. Does that count?

Damn man that is crazy!
I have to have one more surgery (they said it will be my last) this Tuesday. I feel fine but my docs says it is part of the procedure so....
Anyway it is taking a lot longer than I truly thought it would take but considering everything I am ok with it. I will be 200 lbs again with a 8-10% BF before the end of 2009.

Good luck with the surgery. Hope the recovery is good.
I dont doubt you will be. I dont care what I weigh as long as I get to 8%. Just something I feel I have to do.

I always wanted to weigh 200lbs, was my goal. When I hit it, it was the best feeling of accomplishment ever for me. I need (for my own personal reasons) to hit that goal again.

I voted 'no', but I guess, technically, these would be considered supplements?
My goals-
Today, I want to better then I was yesterday. Tomorrow, I want to be better then I am today.

Killer of Threads
I currently take a multi-vitamin every morning.
I generally drink SP250 prior to a workout (although the effects have subsided quite a bit), and a protein drink, ON Pro Complex, at breakfast time and post workout.
Other than that, I just eat stuff. I would really like to find something other than SP250 that gives me the energy surge I like for my workouts. I can get by without it, but I seem to get a significantly better workout when I feel a little extra energetic...and I don't want the energy surge that comes with a sugar and/or caffiene high. Although, I DO love my coffee in the a.m...usually 20oz.
Is that a real poncho, or a Sears poncho?

TIMMY!!!!
multi vitamin
Fish oil
Whey
Torrent post workout.
other then that I'm supplement free
