The only time you should stretch is directly after a workout. Holding each stretch for at most 20 seconds. Stretching on a injured/sore muscle is not a good idea, it would only cause further breakdown of your muscle tissue.
What helps is taking a cold shower directly after a workout to reduce swelling. The next day, if you're still sore, try contrast showers. On cold for one minute, on hot for 2 minutes, repeat 6 times.
