Another Birth Control Question

Sorry!

I've been on Birth Control for almost 3 months now.
During March I had a period on the 10th until the 15th. It was normal.
Then on the 27th more bleeding occured and hasn't stoped to this day.
It's heavier than it usually is when I'm on my period.
Is it just breakthrough bleeding that normally occurs on Birth control? I didn't think it was supposed to last like 10+ days and be so heavy...

Is it painful?

First off, it could be something serious, or it could be just your body adjusting. Call your gyno ASAP... leave a message or speak with a nurse/doctor. BC sometimes made my period irregular when I was just starting. It also happened to me when the birth control was too low of a dose. But it could also be a cyst or something serious.

Don't fret, it's kinda common when adjusting to new BC, but call your doc for sure!!!

It's only as painful as it normally is. I usually get slight cramps and a pain that goes down my leg while im on my period, and i have the same feelings with this bleeding.

Out of my experience, it very well sounds like A) your adjusting or B) the hormones are too low of a dose for you. I've been through a handful of different kinds of birth control, and I experienced something similar. So try not to be too nervous. I would think if it were "bad bleeding" like from a cyst or something you would be in pain. Not saying it couldn't be something serious though.

My doctor did say he gave me a pill which has one of the lowest doses of hormones..so maybe that's it. And about a year ago I had to get an ultra sound because he said the pains I get when I'm on my period could be from a cyst. But they didn't find anything! Bah. I'll go see the doctor soon, and thanks again for the help
