    Question CLA dosage

    Hey!!

    I just purchased some CLA.....it says to take one softgel daily. I was wondering if that is with food, or do I take it 30 min before my meal. It doesnt specify. Any help would be great!

    I've read you should take it with a meal (preferably lunch) , and not before bed time . I don't use it so I'm not a 100% sure, hopefully someone who's on it can give you a more informed answer. Cheers

    How many mg's CLA is your pill? I use 1000 mg pills, and I take one WITH breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

    CLA dosage

    I take two capsules with breakfast lunch and dinner. I read a book that you need between 3 and 4 grams of CLA a day. The pills though 1000mg are not all CLA. It takes 6 caps a day for me to get 4.2 grams of CLA. I use prima force and a bottle of 180 caps last me 30 days.

    ^^^^ I have read that around 4g daily to aid in fat burning taken with meals throughout the day.

    cla is only effective on body comp in fairly high doses, consider the following:

    5 to 6 caps is what the interesting research used. Try taking it with Borage Oil the GLA is synergestic with CLA.

    I think mine are 250 mg of CLA.....it's from the new GNC line for woman called WellBEing. Directions say to take 1 pill daily, but I'm also going to be taking with Zenalean (ephedra). I'm not little either......5'10" about 150, but I want to lose 10 lbs.....so how many CLA pills should i take on a daily basis?

    Yes, I read the same thing. I believe 6 grms throughout the day was the "sweet spot" for recomp in most people.

    At 250mg per cap, that's going to be a crap load of pills!

    I buy bulk CLA at 1000mgs per cap.

    I did read that anything over 4 grms per day could potentially strain the liver. So much conflicting stuff out there...

    oh gosh! I had no idea that was the recommended dosage for CLA. Okay, next time around, i will do more research and buy a pill with a higher mg count. Do you remember where you read that for fat loss, one should take a few grams?? What brand do you buy?

    The clinical trials done concluded dosing of 3.4 g or higher in order to be efficacious. With regards to this, I would stick to 3-4 x 1000 mg pure CLA gels.

    i am using the primaforce as well. each capsule has 700mg of cla. the "lean mass" diet i am following recommends 2 caps, 3x/day.

    i take 4 grams a day but more because in a study they showed an increase of 2 pounds of muscle and a loss of 1 pounds of fat in a month..

    Costco sells CLA softgells. 180 softgels for like $18 or something. 2 softgels = 1560mg CLA.

    one of the only scientific studies done on humans found that doses above 3.4g a day don't increase the effectiveness. Supplement companies obviously want you to take more but its really not necessary.

    Take CLA tabs with meals. 3 Tabs a day (1000 mg x 3) that makes it 3000 mg a day. It is quite helpful while on a cutting cycle. If you too are on cutting phase and not taking much carbs, go for B-Complex with Minerals.

    Man, I hope OP isn't still trying to figure this out 8 years later.... CLA has been shown to be worthless in non-obese people at low doses.
