Went over to one of my friend's house and he and my other friend were working out, i didn't do anything because my back was killing from yesterday.
Okay my friend is like 5'10" and 160lbs like 14% BF. So yeah he starts Benching 50lbs i'm like "wtf son". Also, his form is that he puts his leg on the bench and lifts them in the air like try to balance himself or some ****. He then convinces my other friend that this is proper form.
I'm all "wtf 50lbs is pointless at your size breh" he's all "i do 5 sets of 20 EXPLOSIVE reps, best way to build muscle".
Then i tell them that their form is **** and they should keep their legs planted.
He goes "Well it's what i do and do you see how big I am?".
Who was being the douche in this situation? lol I'm not sure because he i guess i must've been trying to come off as a know-it-all or some crap.
And that IS crap form right? Just making sure...

No man ur wrong. Like the best way to build ur legs muscles is to stand on a bosu ball with 5kg dumbell in ur hand and do a one legged squat while shoulder pressing the dumbell. You know, the kinda stuff personal trainers tell their clients to do. Its amazing, it really works.

*shrugz* some people take their legs off the ground when they bench so that you cant let yourself use any leg drive to get the weight up.

when u say 50lbs do uy mean 50 on each side or 2.5lbs on each side or 25lbs on each side?

its somewhat common for people to put their legs up on the bench while doing the lift, but its not the official form. someone would have to be completely oblivious to everyone in the gym to believe that.
how can you let somebody that benches 50lbs tell you their ****ty form is better than yours?
