    is creatine worth it?

    I've never used creatine. any creatine based products. nothing. is it worth it? and should I get some?

    I never used a creatine before about 2 weeks ago. I went with Green MAG and I will never go back. I have already put on about 2-3lbs NOT water weight. And I have been surpasing all my lifts every time I step in the gym.

    The only 2 I recommend (I'm cheap) are just plain old creatine mono and storm. Storm is a bit better than creatine mono and not very expensive...it also isn't filled with a ton of dextrose.

    I don't like GM because I don't want tyrosine or betaine. I already get taurine from sp250 if I use it, caps if I don't, and if I don't have time to make some real carbs pwo, the generic creatine/dex mix I have for convienience has 1g/serving.

    MCC is a really good form of creatine though.

    also, if anyone has any science/research heavy links on betaine, i'd be interested.

    It can make you retain more water. It's never had that effect on me, but most people do get it.

    water retention and creatine bloat aren't the same thing. increased muscular water uptake is one of the main functions of creatine.

    dosages on are the supplement.

    for plain creatine mono, since this is your first time ever using it, I'd say 5g a day for about a week. after that, just take 5g on workout days and you should be fine. you can take green mag on workout days and mono on off days if you need to, but most people have stopped taking creatine every day.

    It really doesn't matter when you take it for the most part. When I'm not taking SizeON I'll take Creapure or Magnesium Creatine Chelate (I can get both in bulk) mixed in some water or my oats in the morning. Anyone >200lbs should talk about 2.5 grams (half tsp) to avoid bloating.
