6a) Still working the BJJ community, now he has his eyes set on Keith Owens (and there is DEFINITELY something going on behind the scenes. FOr those of you that were willing to pitch in for the seminar, you'll be receiving a PM from me with some details as to some things that happened surrounding the seminar that I cant post publicly yet)
7) Lied and said his guys all competed Intermediate and Advanced when several other competitors have said they were all in Novice and Beginner divisions (again, Ari wouldnt compete because he had to focus on "Coaching", which was ironic because i've seen several competitors coach, and compete at the same time).
8) Lied about having been formally trained in BJJ prior to Eddie Bravo, and him filming his instructional youtube videos (then later came out and said he attended "a couple of seminars", but he wouldnt say who taught the seminars, or where.)
9) Even lies about some of the JJJ he offers (he never would give sources of where his Ninjutsu training was from)
10) Denied rolling at his Chicago seminar (which is why the attendance was so low)."

You can find a lot better instruction on the internet if you look for it. Not all his videos are **** but he leaves out a lot of important details and doesn't describe a lot of them well enough to perform the move effectively.

What i truly dont understand is if hes not hot ****, why the f*ck does everyone care so much to point that out?
All i have to say is that i have without a doubt benefited from review his videos. He may not be the best purple belt in the world, but i don't see you filming hundreds of videos breaking down techniques step by step. you don't need a black belt to do that.

Go look some stuff about him. Then come back and be honest. Tell us if you'd pay $50-$100 one of his seminars, study under this guy, or by his DVD.

Ive never trained with Ari so I really shouldnt talk about his abilities.
But I heard in person and on the internet mma forums that he sucks. I know its a cliche and stupid thing to go by what you hear on internet forums, but that's how a lot of word spreads in the bjj community.
and i also saw a clip of his dvd where he shows an armbar and he is doing it really bad, i know you can't go by one move and judge his whole game. . . but it was on his DVD. Why would he choose such a horrible looking armbar to be on his DVD? and no it's not an example of what not to do.
but at the same time, he never claims to be great or even good. I think he is a TMA guy that recently got into the whole bjj game and thats ok. He does have a lot of exposure and popularity, so that's probably a reason why people are so quick to point out that he isn't "good".
he does provide very basic free instruction and he never claims to be good, so i guess in that sense subs101 is not a fraud.

He gives a lot of expensive seminars and back in the day he attempted to pass his JJJ belt off as a BJJ belt.

This message is aimed at everyone who supports Ari and does not think he's doing anything wrong.
To sum it up, if you love the sport/martial art of BJJ then Ari Bolden is an enemy to it.
Any good teacher/instructor knows that the most important belts in his class are the white belts, they are the future of his class and this sport. The higher ups are very important as well, but they dont need half as much guidance as the whites.
As someone earlier said in this thread its 10 times harder to unlearn a bad habit than learn a new technique, with that said, what about the amount of white belts who look at that site, take what he says on-board and learn the bad technique, bad habbits? That's only gonna be bad for the sport as we would have a large number of guys coming up with bad technique and horrible habbits.
It'll take longer for them to progress in the sport than others and alot may quit because like Ari they may not like the humility of the white belt for long. Not so good for our sport now is he?
What about the other problem , that he's supposidly buying belts?
This is the exact kinda thing that anyone who really loves BJJ has been trying to put a stop to.
I ask you this, if a whole load of TMA instructrs decide they want a peice of the BJJ pie for themselves and decide to buy their belts, how long before the dreaded TKD like belt factorys start popping up and BJJ becomes bastardised?
