Polar bears are dying because of the climate change, they are nearly all wiped out! One major reason is that polar bears are forced to swim more than they normally would due to the rapid melting snow

So, let me stop what I normally do. Like, being a Father, a husband, a cop and an NCO. So, I can take more time away from my Kids and my Wife and everything else that matters most to me. So, these bears can go on living.

Polar bears are just as important to their ecosystem as any other organism. Them dying creates an imbalance in that ecosystem which has either an indirect or direct effect causing inflation of the population of other organisms which leads to starvation and eventually the death of that population. If enough populations are destroyed it eventually leads to extinction. If enough species of animals are extinct the effect of that becomes exponential and eventually causes an even more devastating effect in which after several other extinctions occur, the human race could be threatened.
And we all know how much PETA and the hippies will start whining and bitching if that happens.

When it comes to swimming miles in open ocean compared to a few hundred feet it does make a big difference.
You live in fukcing canada. And its not longer known as global warming in the academic community because it sends out the wrong idea to the general public. They call it climate change, while the earth will become warmer other parts of the world will become colder. With more melted ice cap freshwater in the ocean the belt of warm water coming up from the southern atlantic stops so New England and Eastern Canada becomes even colder and ends up turning into greenland instead of temperate zones.
You can actually drastically reduce your output of greenhouse gasses with a few simple tweaks of your lifestyle that wont have much of an impact on your day to day life. Recycling things, energy efficient appliances/lightbulbs, unplugging vampire appliances, insulating your home more. This will also save you thousands of dollars in the long termLast edited by Russia25; 03-19-2009 at 07:10 PM.

My question is. Will these same polar bears give a fcuk about me and my family if the roles were reversed?

I think it's tragic, but, extinction is just one of those unfortunate processes of evolution. Most people are familiar with the fact that 99% of all species to have ever lived are now extinct. If the polar bears' extinction was a direct result of human activity (as in the instance of massive extinctions due to deforestation), then yes, I would be more concerned. But I don't think it is. The Earth's climate has always had periods of warming and cooling, and will continue to do so. Those species which fail to adapt won't be around for very long.
This. It scares me how little attention is being paid to this issue:

I think we are in need of a population correction. The climate has ALWAYS changed throughout history. People have done more damage to the earth destroying habitat than from global warming. I think Joe Rogan when he was on a DMT rant described looking down at urban sprawl from an airplane like a bunch of growing tumors.....and he's right.
If polar bears weren't perceived as cute and cuddly you wouldn't hear anything about them.
