Obama = Horrible President
People are going to look back in glory upon the bush years by the end of this man's first reign of our government.
Look at the folksthat are running the country behind Hussein the Crybaby : Joe Biden aka king dip****, Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi...we are screwed. Our global image is a complete joke and even other nations are seeing that we are collapsing our economy by burning trillions in givaways.
Thoughts?

I think Peolsi, and Harry reid are the ones running things, Obama seems to just be a glorified white house spokesperson disguised as the president, it seems he gives a speech every single day somewhere, so it seems all he does is give speeches...Either way its scary to have these socialist nuts running things....I have heard that alot of liberals are scraping there Obama bumper stickers off their vehicles, which is hilarious!

gloom and doom, end of the world, we're all going to die because someone with something other than R next to their name is the president.

You don't think the trillions of dollars of new debt is going to affect anything?

I don't understand why their hasn't been a president in almost 50 years who has REDUCED our debt. Clinton was able to almost slow it down to a stop, and granted, had he been given a few more years, might have been able to reduce it. It hasn't actually been reduced since the 60's. Our debt has what, tripled in the last 10-15 years? It's ridiculous, and uncalled for. President's of the U.S. should be some of the smartest people on earth, and I don't understand why they keep driving us further into debt. Like seriously, how much debt can we go into? Does it really not matter?

The economy is stimulated by the oil. It has brought new life to Russia.
Russia is thinking in it's best interest by invading Georgia and nearly getting owned by USA?

Some people, like the CBO, like to actually put studies into it to see where we might be and what kind of debt we are still incurring later down the line. Not everyone has a laid back 'wait and see' attitude.

Russia was defend the a sovereign territory...Cant say the same for the US who goes around invading other countries for no reason(See Iraq).
nearly owned by the USA? You joking or high on crack? You dont have the troops to fight Russia son, you just sent 50,000 to Afghanistan
with oil back down to <50 a barrel, somehow Russia is still not in debt while the US is seeing unimagineable debt levels.
Stop failing please

The reason the US can borrow is because it is the reserve currency of the world and the largest (although systemically flawed) economy. Other countries would never be able to borrow as much as the US does. Im not sure why all the previous presidents have been getting us into debt, either they chose to or they had to. Energy is the most important thing. US oil production peaked around the time we started going into debt. That correllation might mean something. The debt was used to fuel the explosive growth of the late 20th / early 21st century.

I don't need to wait to know that Keynesian stimulus spending isn't going to work.

There is definitely correlation between now and the 70s when Keynesian stimulus and spending were at peaks. The fed lowered interest rates and inflation hit after a trough period of recession and deflation. It is the massive borrowing by the government that causes boom and busts. Money is then dished out to interest groups as pork and stimulus resulting in perverse incentives; mortgage backed securities, sub prime loans, qausi-organizations promoting welfare state, etc.
