Ergolean AMP V2...The Quest for my Abs!
Welcome to another sponsored log with Purefitness. This log will not be real flashy with lots of youtube videos and banners and stuff, I've tried that route before and I find that the real focus of the log (ie supplement discussion) tends to get lost. I will touch on things like my diet and training, but plan on devoting the majority of my time to discussing the supplement itself. Among other things, I will be judging it on... - Energy
- Focus
- Thermogenic Effect
- Mood/Well being
- Lipolysis (fat loss)
I will also compare it to various other stimulant based fat burners I have tried, especially the original version of AMP. I know many forum members are quite familiar with, and fond of the original AMP formula, so I will do my best to compare the two (having enjoyed a few bottles of the original version myself).
I will be dosing 4 AMP's a day, 2 in the morning 30 minutes before breakfast, and 2 in the afternoon on an empty stomach. Two bottles will yield 60 days of use with this protocol. I've never actually used a stim like this before...I usually reserve my stimulant use to pre-workout, or when I feel I really need a boost of energy/focus. I feel this particular formula is really geared towards everyday use, and will provide more benefits than just pre-workout energy. Being an avid student, as well as a fitness enthusiast, I will also be looking for the effects to help me get through those early morning classes, and late nights studying.
My main goal for this log will be an overall body recomp. I can't say I'm completely cutting, because I really don't have a large amount of bf to lose, and I really just want to tighten up without losing, and possibly increasing my strength/muscle mass. I am also very active in sports, and want to work on my endurance throughout this log (this means more cardio ). Diet will be very clean, and tracked daily on fitday.com. 3000 calories on workout days, and 2500 calories on non workout days with a consistent 40/30/30 split (and I'll tweak it if need be after two weeks of so). I know this seems high, but I am very active throughout the day, and have a relatively high metabolism.
In addition to AMP V2, supplements will be limited to the same ones that I have been using for the past month. Omega Ultima, ON 100% Whey, ON Pro Complex, Fish Oil, Orange Triad (half dosed new formula), GUT Health, and Anabolic Pump.
I'd love to hear your comments and questions throughout the log, so please feel free to ask questions or give critiques throughout.

Current weight is 175 in the morning dry, but my weight fluctuates up and down +-5 lbs throughout the day. I caught that damn flu that was going around about two weeks ago, and was out of the gym for quite sometime. I could almost feel my body wasting away, it was an awful end to an otherwise successful bulk. Anyways, I'm starting to hit my stride again in the gym, and have no doubts that I will continue to make big strides throughout this log.

Initial dosing review
Initial dosing of 2 caps immediately upon waking. Effects started kicking in 30 mins after the first dose, and continued to rise for another 30 mins before leveling off. I kind of forgot how euphoric the geranium/caffeine/zingerone combo can be, it really is such a different experience than straight caffeine...almost amphetamine like feelings of focus and well being. I will say that I have always responded really well to geranium. I was very surprised by the amount of energy I got from only two pills (160mgs of caffiene). I'm thinking it was a combination of me tapering off stims a bit prior to this log, and taking the pills on a COMPLETELY empty stomach. The energy wasn't intense, but definitely not subtle either...just ready to get **** done. I did notice some level of increased thermogenisis, but honestly my body has a very effective cooling system, and since it's always hot in Texas, I always sweat a lot...yeah, I'm a Mitchum man!
Too early to compare to other stims/original AMP, but so far so good. I can tell this stuff will definitely help me with my school work as much as in the gym. I'm going to do a little research on some of the other ingredients in this stuff, as I have relatively little experience/knowledge with a few of them. I will update again later on today after second dose.

2nd daily dosage initial review
Ok so I took the second 2 pill dose at 3 o'clock about 2 hours after lunch, preworkout. This just sort of continued the sustained focus and energy I still had from the morning dose. I really need to remember to never take this stuff past 3, as the effects, though not super intense, tend to last for like 6-8 hours. I have a feeling that the half life of geranium is about twice that of caffeine. During my workout, I also experienced the infamous raspberry ketone burps that I have been hearing about. It wasn't really that nasty, just an odd taste, and definitely not pleasant during my workout. Still really impressed with the effects so far, but hopefully they start to taper off within the next few hours as I need to go to bed by 11...

April 1
2 caps in the morning 30 mins before breakfast
7 hours later
2 caps mid afternoon 30 mins preworkout on an empty stomach
I'm really enjoying the split dosage. The energy doesn't hit you hard, but the effects are very enjoyable and last long. I don't know if I really feel appetite suppression, but I'm just so focused on whatever task is at hand that I often forget to eat (after rereading that last sentence, I guess that is considered appetite suppression. My experience with the AMP V1 was always preworkout...usually started with 2, and towards the end of the bottle was popping four at a time no problem. I'm hoping the staggered dosing will help save my CNS, as I tend to build up a tolerance to stims quickly.
I had a really great Chest/Shoulder workout. Good energy and endurance throughout. I think I'm feeling sort of a cumulative effect with the second dose, which is odd because usually if I have any caffeine early on in the day, the effects from a second dose are significantly. I'll keep an eye on this.

Your positive feedback (along with Peter's) were the primary reasons why I was so intrigued by this logging opportunity. Glad to have you along as well.

purefitness, are you getting a wide-eyed, focused feeling? I get this feeling from Sulbutiamine but AMP2 has Fursutiamine (which is similiar form of Vit.B1)
Is it affecting your sleep at all? I couldn't take the original AMP after 12:00 midday or i'd be up till all hours.

Wide-eyed focus is a good explanation of how I feel. I didn't get much from Sulbutiamine, very subtle effects if any, so I can't compare the two, but I really feel like this product is ideal for daily activities that require attention and focus.
The original AMP seems quite a bit stronger, even though the caffeine content in this version is slightly higher. The effects do last a good 8 hours, and there is little to no crash (unlike AMP V1), but because I know this I won't take the product after 3 in the afternoon. No sleep problems so far under this dosing protocol.

2 caps immediately upon waking, 30 mins before fasted cardio. All I can say is wow...this was the most pronounced effect I have experienced yet. I really feel the emptier your stomach the better for this stuff. I guess maybe the cardio helped the effects to kick in quicker and stronger as well. Cardio felt effortless, and I was able to completely zone out (watching sports center) for 30 minutes without looking at the clock once (usually I always have my eyes on the clock, counting down the minutes till the cardio session is over).

purefitness, how is your appetite after you workout?
And, does eating increase or decrease the effects of the AMP?
I train first thing in the morning to so that's when i'll be taking mine. I found stims hit me a lot quicker and more intensely at this time of the day.
With the original AMP i could go for hours without eating even after the most intense workout. Not that i did but it did keep my portions sizes down and it was only good food.
Sounds like it's working well.

Eating doesn't seem to increase or decrease the effects after taking AMP, as long as you give it a good 30-45 minutes to get into your system. Taking it on an empty stomach significantly increases the effects (the emptier the better). As far as appetite suppression goes, it doesn't really make it so eating is a chore, and food isn't like unappealing. For me, the appetite suppression is almost an outgrowth of the focus and energy I get...it's almost like a forget to eat sometimes, and when I do eat it's because I know I need to, not because I'm really that hungry (if that makes any sense).

Had an incredible leg workout today, and thermogenisis was borderline ridiculous. After a set of 20 rep squats, I was literally bathing in my own sweat. I guess I just didn't pick up on this over the first few days of use, that or there is some cumulative effect, because ever since this I have felt an increase in body temperature all day long.
The other thing I wanted to mention in regard to the questions about appetite suppression is that I am satisfied with much smaller portions. During the winter bulk, I would often finish a full meal and think to myself "wow, that was a nice snack, I'm ready for the next course," or "what's for desert?" I don't seem to be getting these kind of cravings at all after taking AMP.
Oh yeah, and I like the Raspberry burps. I think they taste good...is that weird?

April 4
Took two caps in the morning before an arms workout. I tried taking it with a light meal (protein shake) to see if this had any negligible effect. The energy was still there, but not quite as good as when it is taken on an empty stomach. I think it's actually the mental acuity. or "wide eyed focus," that suffers when not taken on an empty stomach.
Took my second dose (completely empty stomach) before heading off to the library to study for my test on Tuesday. I was a machine, and did a good 6 hours of work in under 4. Concentration has always been a problem for me, especially when studying something that I'm not totally enthralled with. I was prescribed with adderall as a child (who wasn't), but discontinued use because I didn't like how it made me feel once it wore off. I think this would be a nice alternative for those who like the initial effects of low dosed adderall, without the negative sides.

Didn't get much sleep Saturday night (new gf, we stayed in ), but AMP gave me the motivation and drive to get up for a morning run before breakfast (she stayed in bed, lazy ass). While we're on the subject, I haven't noticed a "stim dick" effect as of yet, which is something I was actually worried about. I've only experienced this twice before (Stim X and Ephedrine), and I never want to experience it again.
It's almost been one full week, and so far everything has been great. Heading into the second week, I will continue this dosing protocol (2 caps in the AM, 2 caps in the afternoon, both on an empty stomach). No tolerance issues to speak of yet, so I will hold on to this dosage until that changes.

Wow I wasn't expecting much this early, but I can already see my abs starting to tighten up. Could be just some initial water weight, but nonetheless I couldn't be more satisfied after only 1 week.

I had a ridiculous back workout this morning. I don't always list workouts, but this one deserves mentioning.
(warm ups not included)
Neutral grip pull ups
BWx12, BWx12, BW+25lbsx8 (I never do weighted pull ups, but I will from now on!
Powercleans
95x8, 115x8, 135x6
Bent over BB rows
135x12, 155x8, 175x5
Widegrip lat pulldowns
120x15, 140x12, 160x10
DB Pullovers (upper back resting on a large stability ball)
65x12, 70x12, 75x12
Strength was as good as it's ever been, and even though the volume isn't that large, I finished this workout in around 30 mins (minimal rest times between sets).
Still keeping with the 2-2 split dosage, and loving every minute of the incredible energy and focus it provides. I also continue to notice sweating and thirst to be increased significantly. I often feel dehydrated throughout the day if I don't have a constant supply of H20 (probably a good thing for cutting bf). The sweating, though annoying, is also a good sign of thermogenic calorie burning.

Another fantastic morning workout...
Chest+Shoulders
Incline DB Press
50x12, 60x12, 70x8, 80x7
Hammer Strength Decline Press
180x12, 230x10, 270x8
Freemotion Shoulder Press
12, 12, 12 (not sure about weights, numbers on the plates weren't correct)
Pec Deck Flies
80x12, 90x12, 100x12
Body Masters Lateral Raises
12, 10, 10
*superset with*
Explosive Uneven Pushups
3 sets of 8 on each side
Got in and out again in 30-45 minutes (drenched in sweat). AMP is really helping me power through these morning workouts quickly and efficiently. Was really pleased because I haven't been able to get up the 80's on the incline in quite sometime without a spotter, and I've been in a great mood all day. In fact, my mood and demeanor has been great ever since starting AMP...even my parents and girlfriend have commented on what a pleasure I've been lately .

I started doing some two a days today! Reminds me of the highschool days. I don't plan on doing this everyday, but I just feel so good and have so much energy lately, that I almost need to get to the gym twice a day to release all that excess energy. I did 30 minutes of morning cardio before breakfast, and then had a solid arms workout after school today around 4. Strangely enough, I'm actually enjoying these morning cardio sessions. 2 caps provides just the right amount of energy and drive to get my ass out of bed and onto the treadmill. I also get to start my day off right with a hefty dose of SportsCenter. Diet has also been on point all week, and I'm just really stoked about already seeing myself leaning out. Six pack, here I come!

Not late at all, we're just getting started. I feel I have a pretty good grasp on the immediate effects of AMP, but the cumulative effects, as far as body recomposition, are just begining!

Day 10 Pics
Ok, so I know it's pretty typical to lose some significant (mostly water) weight in the first week or two after cutting calories, upping activity levels and supplementing with a fat burner, but this is pretty ridiculous. My body just feels much tighter...some serious diuretic effect going on here in addition to the aforementioned energy/focus/drive. I'm starting to think that I am going to look absolutely shredded after this log is finished!
