Read this:
The American businessman was at the pier of a small coastal Mexican village when a small boat with just one fisherman docked. Inside the small boat were several large yellowfin tuna. The American complimented the Mexican on the quality of his fish and asked how long it took to catch them.
The Mexican replied only a little while. The American then asked why didn't he stay out longer and catch more fish? The Mexican said he had enough to support his family's immediate needs. The American then asked, "But what do you do with the rest of your time?" The Mexican fisherman said, "I sleep late, fish a little, play with my children, take siesta with my wife, Maria, stroll into the village each evening where I sip wine and play guitar with my amigos, I have a full and busy life, senior."
The American scoffed, "You should spend more time fishing and with the proceeds, buy a bigger boat with the proceeds from the bigger boat you could buy several boats, eventually you would have a fleet of fishing boats. Instead of selling your catch to a middleman you would sell directly to the processor, eventually opening your own cannery. You would control the product, processing and distribution. You would need to leave this small coastal fishing village and move to Mexico City, then LA and eventually NYC where you will run your expanding enterprise."
The Mexican fisherman asked, "But senior, how long will this all take?"
To which the American replied, "15-20 years."
"But what then, senior?"
The American laughed and said that's the best part. "When the time is right you would announce an IPO and sell your company stock to the public, you would make millions."
"Millions, senior? Then what?"
The American said, "Then you would retire. Move to a small coastal fishing village where you would sleep late, fish a little, play with your kids, take siesta with your wife, stroll to the village in the evenings where you could sip wine and play your guitar with your amigos."

nobody wants to do the entry level thing, but for most that's a route you'll need to go if you're looking to climb the latter. Go for the best you can and build from there, advance as much as you can within that structure and then move on to the next one. It does suck doing work that you might feel is beneath you, but its just temporary.
I get what you're saying though, that time right before you leave school is a mindf*ck.

yeah seriously...
and I am a finance major... and well obviously this is not the best time.
Also I realized about two months ago..that I absolutely hate finance...I liked it at a very basic level..but I cannot stand it....or any business related material...

You must be joking. Graduation day should be one of the best days of your life. Independence, your chance to earn real money, make something out of yourself and making it on your own.
You need to change the way your looking at it. Your major does not mean sh!t in the grand scheme of things. Being a finance major qualifies you for just about anything you want to pursue.
Start hitting the job boards and getting excited about all the potential money you soon will be earning.

Become an officer in the military.
You can get into just about any position you want to since you have a degree. Most jobs aren't degree specific as they'll train the **** out of you before you get to work. You could fly jets if you're physically qualified.

Take that attitude out of the equation and research the officer side of things in the different branches. Pay is on par with entry level positions and you won't be stuck doing something you hate.

Don't worry, man, I'm in the same boat myself, more or less. Well, I'm making forward progress in a career field while working whatever jobs I have to to have income, but it kinda sucks.
I'm in huge debt from school loans and make as much income as a poor person. But like that Mexican dude, I feel I live a somewhat full life. I workout, hang out with my girlfriend, sleep in, watch movies, go out to eat, laugh with my family...****, I'd be happy if my school debt would just disappear. Money is the illusion of happiness.
Well, I take that back, vast amounts of money is the illusion of happiness--you need a certain amout of money to survive and pay for your fun.

trust me bro, you have all the time in the world, very few people have any idea what they really want to do at your age. The biggest step is landing that first position, whatever it is. Once you have that under your belt, you will learn what you like quickly and the path to get there will be much clearer. Before you know it you will have a full blown career.

I really do not think anything in the military could be anything I would enjoy... a friend of mine is going to Navy OCS and he was telling me all about it...I still cannot grasp why he would have any desire to do that.

Yeah I am sure you are right.. but its hard to grasp at this time..
The only thing I REALLY like.. are the NFL, TV, movies, and the internet haha
Probably too late to be in movies and TV..definitely too late for NFL haha...and the internet..well it has made me desensitized to everything.

Because the work experience is great, the pay is good, you get to travel (depending on your rating), and you get to do something that you most likely would not find in the private sector (also depending on the rating). In the Navy, you can fly jets/helicopters or control their weapons/navigation systems in the backseat, do cryptology work as an Information Warfare officer, work in the intelligence field and travel all over the world, take on great responsibility and maybe get to take over control of a carrier as a Surface Warfare Officer, and the list goes on.
I'm not a recruiter or even in the military (yet), but it isn't a bad deal by any means.

If I decide not to become a lawyer, I'm going to teach. Summers to travel and tons of time off.
