I would tell you but if I did that then some poindexter is gonna come in here and sharpshoot me on how he knows all about ketosis because he hangs out in the nutrition section and is 8% BF. When in actuality he just plagiarised a wiki entry and recites it as if he knows what he's talking about. Probably look for some info that looks "real complicated"

I'm less then 2 weeks into it so I can't say much about it. I'm going for 10 weeks total so I'll report back around week 6 with some details.

Everyone that has done it correctly for a good amount of weeks (5+) loves it and has had great results.

    It's legit.

OP -- 20g is the general guideline, but then people need to tweak it. I could stay in ketosis with over 50g of carbs.

But you'll notice soon enough that you don't miss carbs All of my non-fiber carbs came from non-green veggies like carrots or tomatoes..

I tried it, will never do it again. Lost too much muscle/energy. Just do a calorie restricted diet where you can enjoy sweet potatoes, oatmeal, wheat bread etc. Carbs are awesome

How is it bad? And how does it lead to failure?

Carbs is the only non-essential nutrient out there too

    edit:
I tried it, will never do it again. Lost too much muscle/energy. Just do a calorie restricted diet where you can enjoy sweet potatoes, oatmeal, wheat bread etc. Carbs are awesome
If you lost muscle you did something wrong, if you had low energy you did something wrong.. Energy actually was higher, but I guess the amount of fat I had helped there

The first two weeks are rough, then it gets easy..

ps: I'm not on keto right now and probably won't use it again, but it's definitly a great way to lose weight.

Carbs is the only non-essential nutrient out there too

Keep at the diet you will lose wieght.... but day after day you will feel tired and lazy, you muscles will feel/look smaller and less hard. you will feel weak and as if all the work is for nothing... yes you will lose fat..... but at what cost! carbs are a healthy part of your diet so eat them... you need to know how and when to take fast acting carbs and slow diegesting carbs. The only carbs you need to cut out of your diet completely is white bread, and suger.

    but do what you want

The only thing you need to cut out of your diet is trans fat IMO, simple carbs are fine.

I'm not saying this was your case, but I remember that when I was actively posting in the keto forums, all of the people that reported low energy either didn't eat enough (think 1k cals/day for a 300lbs man) or did not eat enough fat to maintain ketosis (yo-yo = bad).

I had great energy and focus while on ketosis, yes you look smaller, but that's a small price to pay for the great appetite suppression IMO. Not feeling hungry all day while cutting = win in my book.
I never really felt weak either..

edit: best diet I ever tried: IF + keto, the energy was insane!

Carbs is the only nutrient a human can live without.

The body only needs about 20g of carbs to function, and it can make it from protein through some nicely named process.

If your less than 2 weeks in, you should not be carbo loading. Keto is the sh!t when you do it right. I dropped from 205 and about 20% bf in about 90 days on keto. That was last summer and it has stayed off.

They say to keep the carbs under 50g per day, but the lower the better. If I were you, I would go a solid 2 months without carbo loading.

I personally do not see the point in carbo loading at all. Your just slowing the process down. People will post and list the reasons they think carbo loading is necessary, but when I started doing it, my progress stopped. It picked back up again when I stopped.
