    Calories in 1 oz of NY strip steak?

    I have an 8 oz. NY strip steak and am having trouble finding how many calories it has.

    I looked online at Dailyplate.com and it varys from 38 calories to 70 calories per oz. How should I calculate this into my fitday.com?

    Thanks. BTW, what does the 1/4" fat mean? Are they talking about the layer of fat on the side of the steak? Can I cut that off to save some calories?

    or verify if about 400 for 8oz cooked is accurate. bb.com steak index says ;

    fat 20

    per 3oz. im guessing cooked,

    Aren't caloric values usually for raw food? Wouldn't various cooking methods have different impact to the weight? i.e. how much water is evaporated, etc.

    my nys are usually 12oz raw shrink to 9-10oz after cooking

    i usually end up weighing my food cooked since i bbq it in bulk for 3 days or so..
