Colleges for Kinesiology
I want to go to college and get a major in Kinesiology but I can barely find any universities that offer this as a major. Is kinesiology only offered in some colleges or am I just not looking hard enough?
btw i live in florida

If you are just looking for kinesiology you won't find many. The same major is called many different things at different schools.
Physical Education
Exercise Science
Exercise physiology
Exercise & Sports Science
Health Sciences
Human Movement Science
to name a few...
Here is a list of college programs for kinesiology which are reviewed by other trainers:

What are you looking to do with your kinesiology degree?
"Do what you love and you'll never have to work a day in your life" - either Confucius or the Dalai Lama - I get them confused -

not such a good idea there, I'm a PT and in school for kinesiology right now (history minor for teacher/coaching)
you would be better off racking up a bunch of actual certifications and getting started in the industry because experience is just about everything in this field
Look into NASM, ACE, AFAA, ISSA, Cooper Institute if you are in Texas
If you decide you still like the industry after you graduate with a degree then go for ACSM and CSCS

I was going to get the certificates too, but I just wanted to go to school so that way I have something to fall back on just in case pt doesn't work out for me

There really isn't a lot you can do with just a kinesiology bachelor's degree honestly; great for certain things like biomechanics, exercise physiology, exercise testing; and obviously if you want to coach it's the way to go

Thats not true. I have a bachelor's degree in kinesiology and i have i great job. I'm a recreation specialist for the federal bureau of prisons. Sure its not the greatest atmosphere but its great money. I run the wellness program and sports leagues. We also teach coaches courses and personal training courses. All with certifications. I did make 72k last year from my day job along. And thats in a area with a cheap cost of living. I also do training on the side along with group fitness classes. If working with inmates isn't your thing then the Airforce and Navy employ recreation specialist as well.

Florida State has an actual Exercise Science program under the Kinesiology umbrella.
If you plan to be a personal trainer; you don't need a degree (as of right now) Within the next 10 years, there will be license requirement for personal trainers. There are 4 states already in the process of demanding that pass laws be passed requiring all trainers must be college degreed and go before a board to attain a license (as do Physical Therapists)

The Kinesiology program at UK also prepared you for grad school for Physical Therapy. The degree itself could also get you a job as a drug rep or other medical supply sales. So its a good back up if personal training isn't working out.

I'm about to graduate from the University of Georgia with a BSEd in Health and Physical Education, which is housed in their Kinesiology department, along with Exercise Science. UGA would be an option for you if you wanted to move to Georgia.
