All he has to do is hurt himself a little bit, and it could easily cost him millions.

He doesn't strike me as the type to take his eye off his real target so easily. Everyone knows how dedicated he is to his sport and how long he has been practising to get where he is.

IF he really could press that much... he needs a slap and to get his head back in the game.

The fact that most 65 year old men who spent their entire life paper pushing can most likely drive a ball farther then me says something about it.

For a golfer he is pretty fit yes.

He is also a GOLFER. Its what most people do when they retire for a reason.

By this same reasoning, being stronger didn't help Bonds, Sosa, or McGwire play baseball. You could take Ronnie Coleman, or whoever you think is really strong, and let them take batting practice and some skinny baseball player like Soriano would hit it way further just because he is going to make good contact and have an efficient swing. Same thing with you and these 65 year old men, if you are making shiet contact and they are making solid contact they are gonna hit it further. All things being equal, the stronger person will be able to produce faster bat, or clubhead speed and is going to hit it further. In professional golf, where all of the players skills are on elite level, the extra yards (not to mention that strength he has to hit the best shots out of the rough) Tiger has on almost everyone makes a difference. It's not the reason he is one of the best players ever, but it does make a difference.

That being said, I doubt he benches 450. I heard/read an interview almost 2 years ago where he said he never maxes out anymore, but has done over 300. If I had to take a guess I would say around the 350 range like several people have already said.

I don't know a damn thing about golf, baseball OR steroids, but that's never stopped me opening my mouth in the past SO...

maybe steroids didn't make those players better at all. Maybe they just let them recover from an injury. I have heard this said before, there might be some truth to it.

Ya you're right, some players have said that they only used them to recover from an injury quicker. However, I think there is a reason that most sportswriters, and older players have a problem with most of the baseball power numbers set in this era. Some even wanting an * placed by the records, and I've heard a few go as far as to say they should be left out completely.

"Clit stimulation if your fingers are dry is not a good idea. The clit is more sensitive than the underside of a guy's penis, apparently.

Good rule of thumb: make sure you're fingers aren't dry before they go anywhere NEAR her clit/pussy.

Also, besides myself, maybe 2-3 of you have actually done anything like this before..."

You can be an athlete and be a golfer. Just like be and athlete and be a pro baseball player. You don't have to both in either sport.

Im going to say that he most definitley can not bench 450. If a golfer trains heavy, his/her muscles will grow changing their swing dynamics, which they do not want. Also, im not sure what the gillette picture was supposed to prove. He doesnt look big at all.

But you don't have to be big to be strong. How do you think people can lift 2-3x their own bw?

That being said, I doubt he benches 450. I heard/read an interview almost 2 years ago where he said he never maxes out anymore, but has done over 300. If I had to take a guess I would say around the 350 range like several people have already said.

    That makes no sense.

If the point of golf was to just constantly drive balls really far without heed to the tiny ****ing hole somewhere off in the distance maybe it would make some sense.

Mark mcguires job is to hit the ball as hard as ****ing possible. Thats it. That said the basis of your entire arguement is flawed because like golf skill drastically supercedes atheltic ability in baseball anyways.

Which is why i think the entire steroid arguement is nonsense.

Anyways. My point still stands. He is a ****ing golfer.

    This entire statement needs refurbishing.

Have you seen what the "little" strong guys look like. they arent "big" but its not like they look like average joes yet somehow manage to squat 500 pounds.

They are usually solid as hell and provide 0 doubt to a casual observer as to whether or not they workout.

Unlike tiger woods, who looks entirely mundane in every aspect of physique.

You missed my point. Tiger gains an advantage from his strength the same as McGwire. Take away 10-15 yards (doesn't sound like much but that is about 1 club distance), and take away his ability to pull off shots out of the rough that almost no one else can and he'd be a different player. Probably still the best right now because of his putting and mental strength, but not a clear step above everyone else.

Also I'm no sure exactly what you were meaning by this, "That said the basis of your entire arguement is flawed because like golf skill drastically supercedes atheltic ability in baseball anyways."

Are you saying more "skill" is involved in baseball and golf than "athletic" ability?

This was a quote from an interview April 2000 in Golf Digest:

Tiger: "My max was 240 pounds, but that was a while ago. I'm not telling you how much I can do now. Gotta have some secrets, you know."

He has put on a good amount of weight since then, but I think that 450lb number is outlandish.

Tiger is by no means huge in the weight training world... But for an average guy he is pretty jacked. Some people just have natural strength where they can lift a lot of weight with minimal training. Tiger definitely seems like one of those guys who is an easy gainer and naturally strong. I do think 450 is BS, especially considering it's coming from Miller. But I would fully believe up to 375. Which would obviously be impressive for his size, but not unrealistic.

Before I started weight lifting I couldn't even bench a 45lb plate on each side, now I'm up to 275ish lifting very casually the past few years. Somebody like Tiger with more natural strength and an extreme work ethic should easily be able to get his bench to 300+ while staying below 180.

Hitting a baseball is pretty hard. But once you get the hang of it, its not that hard. Hitting homers then becomes easier, but hitting homers on a regular basis, thats another story.

Yea and there are many golfers with far drives that are obviously not jacked.

Not that hard? Is that why someone with a lifetime average of hitting a ball one out of 3 times is given Hall of Fame considerations?

Well I'm talking about hitting any old ball, not just mlb. When I first started trying to hit baseballs, I didn't know how, eventually I got the hang of it and got my own form down. Obviously if I tried to play pro or something I'd get smoked
