Any bartenders or ex-bartenders in here?

I'm considering becoming a bartender for some extra cash.... just wondering if there are any bartenders in teh misc that can provide some tips or if the job is worth it or any funny stories...

My friend says he has a friend who bartends who can sometimes make 300-400 dollars a night, thats insane

Depends where you work really. Most places wont hire a bartender straight up, you would have to work your way up or have experience. Bartending school is a bull**** joke, most places don't care either way, they dont want you there to be all flashy, but to serve fast and accurate. Don't drink too much. Learn to short poor the uber drunk. Take proper care of your regulars.
