Royce wants GSP

Can we PLEASE stop using the pioneers of yesterday as stepping stones for the next generation? I know it?s the pioneers calling for these things, but I think their brains are a little fried from too much awesome in the 90?s.

This is where we need to start looking into legitimate ways to transition our aging superstars into different professions so they don?t end up like Ken Shamrock. If Dana is interested in bringing Gracie back, let it be against another aging legend. If it ain?t gonna be that way, then how about putting him on Portuguese commenting duties?

Unfortunately, Dana only looks out for the fighters who remain loyal to him, regardless of how big a part they had in shaping the sport. Royce doesn?t fit that mold ? in fact, didn?t he recently imply that the UFC framed him for using steroids?9

from royce to hughes, and then hughes to GSP

a GSP vs. royce match is pointless because GSP vs. hughes 2 and 3 was essentially the passing of the torch from 1 generation of MMAist to another.

I think it should headline UFC 100.

In fact all the matchups should be this way, here are a few ideas...

Tank Abbott v. Brock Lesnar

Ken Shamrock v. Rashad Evans (or Lyoto Machida)

Keith Hackney v. Anderson Silva

John Lewis v. BJ Penn

honestly jake shields is a much better match up, one it would make jake in a way it wouldnt make gsp, and two royce could have some tiny hope of catching him with something, though strait up i just got back from Cobra Kai Vegas strait from mark laimons mouth was "you got to watch out for those team takedown guys jake and them are tapping out black belts in strait grappling already"

Now that's funny, Royce is about as much of a stepping stone for GSP as a cast off from TUF's opening round. What a joke. And please don't come at me with that "Royce is a legend/founding father" blah blah because I am well aware, I have a huge amount of respect for the Gracie's, but Royce is on crack for even saying that sh*t aloud.

Royce must be starting to get a little senile because I don't expect most people to typically go around looking to get beat up. Then again he might just be looking for a paycheck.

paycheck is about the only thing i can think of. unless he doesn't understand gsp is such a better athlete that even if he was better at jitz (Which i doubt) he would simply dominate him humiliatingly, somewhat like the BJ pen match, only royce isnt as young, quick, good at BJJ, or as good at boxing as BJ, so likely worse >.<

Agreed. I think this would be 2 times worse than the BJ match. I just don't think that Royce understands how strong GSP is (if he's truely adamant about wanting a fight with GSP. lol), because he would be completely controlled and dominated on the ground and that's the only place he would even have a chance of doing anything.
