Not sure, really. Lunatic would be a good guy to ask, he grew up with the misc. And there are a few things changing here. In the last few months, we have added seven mods to the misc, the infraction system has been implemented, then upgraded. And I doubt things are through changing.

Doubtful. Very doubtful. One of the reasons we got divorced is that I have trouble getting emotionally involved with a lot of **** people care about. This has been a pattern my entire life, so long-term relationships are a lot of work for me.

It was playing when I signed up.

Do not really think about it much. I do not think of myself as old, although obviously I am about twice the age of your average miscer. Then I see some threads and have trouble relating to them.

Teen misc is even harder to mod, because the last thing I want to do is crush the enthusiam of kids who are just starting. The other day I spent about four hours answering questions in there, and it went suprisingly well. I am going to start doing that more often.

Not sure what you mean by tools. Mod console, of course, reps, banning, infractions. We can change signatures, and mod bodyspace. We cannot remove infractions, do anything involving PM's, reps (except what regular users can do), or anything else that should be exclusively personal.

I try. Problem being so many things are a judgment call. So there is always going to be a certain amount of interpretation about everything.

Things I try to do:

Communicate: duh-uh. That is what the board is here for. I respond to every PM and e-mail, unless it gets to the point where we are just going in circles and it is a waste of my time. I try to answer questions, even in threads that should be shut down. The attitude of the other posters determines this one.
Example:
1.Question for the mods? - of course I try and answer this one.
2. **** **** *** ***** mods shut down my **** thread? - figure it out.

Consistent: This one is difficult, with so many things being a judgment call, but I do my best here.

Follow-up. Yes, I actually do this. When I ban someone I try to see if they have been banned before (assuming it is not something that requires a very quick ban, like gore) and go from there. Someone who has never been banned is apt to get a shorter trip to camp than someone who has been banned for the same thing or multiple bans. And I have no problem discussing ban lengths with other mods and admins, given that some have been modding here 10 years. So sometimes a ban length will be changed.

If something is in the rules and stated in black and white (or whatever color) I am less likely to change my mind about something. Example: rep threads. If someone is cool about how they approach me, I am far more likely to be receptive to whatever they are asking, just like in real life. No one likes to be treated like ****, and I have lengthened one or two bans for hate mail while banned. I have shortened and lifted others.

Too many things are conditional here, but we do our best.
