Question about cheat meals - can you go too far?
So I broke down this evening and had I have to come clean to someone. I first thought I'd have a small treat at the very end of my day (even though I'd already had all my calories for the day) and bought a king size candy bar and a diet dr pepper. Oh well, 500ish calories too much. Move on until tomorrow. But that wasn't enough for mr. fatty here. I suddenly became smitten with joy and headed out to Checkers to buy a BLT and Checkerburger. Must be full right? No. I then had a nice bowl of leftovers of pasta/veggie mix (which is the healthiest part of my binge).
Is it normal to binge like this? Start small and before you know it you are eating an entire buffet? Anyway, I am not giving up my diet and will start back on tomorrow morning. I owe myself to keep going and know that if I follow this day up with 5 more days of good eating it will be ok - at least I won't gain weight. But my question is, is there a ceiling on how much weight you can gain in a single sitting? Like if I hypothetically eat 10k calories (Chinese buffet ftw) will by body only be able to process like 3k of those? Or am I just hoping?

A candybar, burger and some veggies and pasta?
That's far from a binge. I wouldn't even consider that a cheat.
However, all that matters is what you think. Sure, the more you eat, the longer it takes to burn the calories, but it's up to you to call it whatever you'd like.
Edit: A King Size Snickers has 170 calories and diet soda has 0 calories. What kind of candy bar are you eating that has 500?

480 cals total.
And I ate at Checkers, also known as Rally's, and had a BLT sandwich plus a regular hamburger. I'd estimate that tonight's unplanned eating was about 1500-2000 calories, and I should be eating 2100ish a day to lose weight. I'm a fatty.

Ah, okay. Who would have known! I just found out that a can of Pringles has 900 calories. I can down one of those like no one's business. It's funny because 95% of the time someone posts their "binge/cheat" I'm just thinking, "Wow, I eat that every day. I must be a freaking pig." I'm a girl and I still eat way more than most men on here when they're binging. Lol.
Anyway.. you're not a fatty. You can't stress over 1,500 calories. Just get back on track tomorrow.
Another Edit.....Just realized the 170 for a King Size Snickers is only 1/3 of the bar, so that's 510. You'd think I'd know how to read nutrition labels after doing this for 10 years.

Thanks. I appreciate it. All I want to know now is my question about there being a max number of calorie your body can process at one time.
I sure feel like a fatty after reading all of the amazing threads on here and seeing people's transformations. The discipline in this forum is inspirational.

Ever calorie does count, but they don't add up as quickly as you think. You could eat 30 candy bars a night and that's only 15,000 calories or roughly 4 pounds gained.
That was an extremely over-exaggerated example just to show how hard it really is to over-eat. NO ONE gets fat over night. So, just don't do it regularly and you're fine.

Thanks to both of you. I can't give out any more rep for today apparently so I'll have to give an IOU to you. It's good to know that it's not the end of the world but I am wonderful at forgetting things on purpose so this was also a coming clean sort of thread. I want to be accountable to myself eventually, but until then being accountable to this forum helps.
