every lift i do is assisted by my obesity. Not just bouncing the bar off my fat gut when i bench, or pushing my gut into a belt on squats, but even my curls, deadlift, and OH pressing are assisted by my enormous belly.
at least according to tallguy."Something about your dick getting dirty from all the poop and crap..."
"So you shave yours?"

Brb getting advice from a piece of **** site like Iron Addicts, which is completely bogus. Hey lets pile up a ****load of broscience, spread it out to the public, and then tell people how awesome True protein is (because they pay us to say so), and how ****ing easy your life will be if you use redpoint.com. REDPOINT TRUE PROTEIN. DONT BUY ANYTHING ELSE. WASTE ALL YOUR MONEY ON THESE TWO BECAUSE IF YOU DONT YOU WILL NOT GROW.
Edit: Just kidding, I love IA.

tallguy said "LONG ARMS DONT MEAN **** FOR BENCHING IF UR GUTS AS HIGH AS THE EIFFEL TOWERS"
so now when ever i lift i lot of weight he says its cuz of my gut lolLast edited by Unst0pp4bl3; 03-29-2009 at 08:16 AM.

Some people don't understand how neural and hypertrophy gains work.
Your muscles only have a certain amount of motor units, and after that first month your muscles have made most of the neural gains they will make.
After that you have to gain muscle to be able to lift more weight because all of your motor units are already firing.
Type 2b muscle fibers use the creatine phosphate system for energy and they are used for the highest production of force, like in powerlifting. 2a muscle fibers use glycogen storage and they can somewhat mimic the characteristics of 2b or 1a fibers. 1a fibers are your red oxidative fibers that run on oxygen and fat.
So when a bodybuilder trains in a higher rep range like lets say... 8-12... he is working his 2a muscle fibers... When he works these muscles he is also gaining glycogen storage weight. So lets say he gained 20 pounds of muscle and glycogen storage. Now he can benchpress 500 pounds.
When a powerlifter trains, he trains with lower rep ranges like 1-3. He is training his 2b fibers. These muscles don't use glycogen like 2a fibers do. So when this powerlifter gains weight its mostly muscle. His endurance suffers because of his lack of other fuel sources. So when he gets to be able to bench 500 pounds then he may gain just 12 pounds.
So what we end up with here is a bodybuilder who is bigger than a powerlifter. They both are lifting the same.
This may help explain that the gains that powerlifters are making aren't "neural"
