Want to do a figure competition... How do I find a coach?
Hey,
From most of what I've read on here, you all strongly recommend having a coach at least for diet or training if you can't afford both. I kind of can't afford either, because I am a poor student, but I want to get serious and would at least invest in having someone help me develop a diet plan or training plan.
How can I find a coach? I'm in nyc.
Any other related advice would be appreciated too

Diet is the most important part of competing and will make your or break you come show time. So def get someone that works with competitors. I will PM you a list of trainers that you can check out. I know all of them personally and have worked with a few of them...they're all great!! Most of us work with trainers on line and do everything through email and phone communication...so it doesn't have to be someone in your area.
I work with Layne Norton for my diet and I do my own training programs.
I'm sure other's will jump in.
Good luck!!

Thank you! I didn't realize online/phone could be so useful. Thanks for the info and I look forward to seeing the list of trainers.
How much should I expect to pay?

I too am interested in competing in figure/fitness. Competing and training for those competions is very new to me. I just started back at the gym weight training/cardio last week. I've been on a pretty strict diet for weight loss, which has worked (30 lbs) almost to my goal weight and now I am looking to get that rock hard body. I do not know anyone around that trains for these events, although I'm sure they're out there...somewhere. I'm kinda lost, but with the help of this site and good eating habits, hopefully I can achieve my goals, at least until I can locate a coach (I can't afford too much either)
Best of luck to you!

Hi, I just checked out Layne Norton's website and the prices are from 109-999....depending on the level of nutritional coaching you need/can afford.

someone directed me to this thread. Those are NOT my prices. I'm afraid you must be looking at something else, perhaps Chuck Rudolph services. I only quote prices for people who email me.

Awesome, yeah, let me know! I'm going to finish this semester first, trying to diet a bit on my own and then I want to get a coach.
