    Whey Isolate vs Whey Blend

I'm taking Ultimate Iso Sensation 93 post workout because it apparently is faster acting and 93% pure etc. I was wondering would it make a difference if i were to switch to ON 100% Whey ($cheaper). One is a protein isolate and the other a whey blend.

Does it make that big of a difference?

IMO it all really just comes down to one question: Are you lactose intolerant? If you are, then yeah - blends/concentrates are going to have an effect... that is, you can't digest the lactose. If you don't have a problem with it, then concentrates are usually in the 80%-ish range I think - and significantly cheaper on a gram-gram basis. To make up that extra 13%, you just take a bit more... and save money.

Effect wise, for the 'everyone else' catagory of people on here (i.e. most of us), no I don't think there's a real difference. It's mostly just in our heads...
    I remember being relevant.

Won't make much of a difference if any at all. Isolate is preferable if you have digestion problems as whey blends can cause some bloating/digestion issues. If you are not having those, then I would suggest switching it up and saving some cash.
    Good Luck!

Unless you are sensitive to very minor tallies of lactose, there will be zero difference. Why would you think that there would be?

I switched and no difference I've seen. As long as your protein intake stays adequate there shouldn't be. (Or if you're very lactose intolerant)

Diet is amazing, always chicken breast, lean meat, and fish, 5 meals/day. I think i should be fine then, maybe save a couple bucks on that damn protein.

Any suggestions for a Whey Blend protein?

Well, it is constantly being tried to shove down our throats that isolate is magically better and therefore always worth it .

    Suggestions for protein:
    Cytosport Complete Whey (my favorite)
    Dymatize Elite
    Optimum Nutrition 100%
    Champion Whey

etc... etc... there are a lot of producers out there. Pick a company you at least somewhat trust, pick a flavor that sounds good for you, and go with that. That will give you a concentrate/isolate or isolate/concentrate blend (doesn't matter which order it is in really - it just indicates which one is in greater amounts... do we really care?).

i currently have cytosport complete whey, ill tell you this if you like thick shakes dont buy this one its a little light you will need atleast 2 scoops and less water to make it thick. it is very cheap though if you want something that is thin though, this protein is the best out there i think. i have cookies and cream and it tastes amazing in milk, i drink it in water because i know i would end of up having like 5 shakes a day if it was in milk.

yea i know that was pisses me off. there 103 servings in a 5lb tub but you need at least 2 scoops to get a proper serving which means its really 52 servings. you still get a lot for your money though. i am almost done with mine and im either thinking of allthewhey, dymatize elite gourmet, or back to ON double rich chocolate. i dont know which to decide they are all really good. you cant go wrong. the one with the best blend though i think it dymatize elite gourmet vanilla its tastes amazing. but ON double rich with milk......game over even with water. thats all ive had for the past two years. i put on some nice lean muslce from it i think.

That's just because the reference serving size weight is smaller than others.

For example, ON's is 30 grams per serving with 24 grams of protein [30 servings in 2.2 lbs].

Here we have 22 grams serving size with 18 grams of protein [45 servings in 2.2 lbs].

It comes up to about the same thing in the end (22/18g=~30/24g)
