    Introduction, Cortisol and Hypothyoidism

I wasn't sure if I should post in the teenagers section or the female section, I choose this because I think I have more of a woman's body than a teenagers so I would probably get better advice here.

Last year I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and being hypoadrenal. I wasn't overweight, I wasn't even that unfit, however going back and forth with thryoid meds made me even more tired than I was before and spent most of 2007/2008 apart from going on holiday in bed.

However I started a batch of steriods which have helped my adrenals recover and im taking almost enough thryoid medication so my energy is 10 fold better to the point I can start exercising again, I used to exercise a lot I would just be wiped out all the time.

However taking steriods ( cortisol ) has made me go from 5'8 and 140lbs to 159lbs. Well Ive been exercising as much as I can for the last two months, ive started the C25k and im on week five. Ive also started body sculpting and weights. Under my newly developed layer of fat ( grrr ) ive built up some muscle and feel fitter already.

I'm more deterimed than ever to be healthy, fit and have energy, im not going to pass up this opertunity given to me thanks to my new meds being the best I can be.

I'm hoping my cortisol weight plus some will drop off. Ive been improving my diet, it wasn't bad before, but I eat more protein and more raw food and as little junk food as possible ( once a week I have a chocolate bar and sometimes chew gum but apart from that I only "food".

My aim is in 6 weeks I will be able to run 30 minutes and lift my 8 pound weights with ease.

My body aim I guess would be .. something along the of Allison Stokke ( fantastic strong body ) or a VS secret model but not so skinny.

    wish me luck!

Best of luck with your program Sophie! Several women on this forum have hypothyroidism and it's good to see your energy has returned.

And I agree, Allison is a great athlete. Nice pick!
