school buddy saw something similar opposite his house one afternoon, the car had driven UP the pole and was at a 45 degree angle.

Guy turned his head and half his face fell off in front of my buddy. eeew. Was still alive.

Yea this dude's face was screwed up. That plastic steering wheel was not nice to his face. I could see his skull in a couple places. Was really sad. Cops got there and asked if I was driving I was like wtf hell no..

My father died while I was giving him CPR. It is tough trying to save your father's life in front of your wife, son, and mother. The weird thing is is that it did not have a traumatic effect on me. I'm not trying to sound cold or like a hardass, but I thought it would have taken more out of me. I went through the initial grieving phase, but it didn't last long. I am also a police officer, so I was used to seeing dead bodies, and witnessing families go through those tuff times.

I was leaving from kickboxing and walking between two towers. I saw someone lying on the floor and went over and there was blood everywhere. Turned out the guy had jumped from the top of one of the buildings and obviously died. Was easily the most horrible thing I have ever seen

My best friend hit a bump and lost control of his snowmobile and hit a tree... I went to get help and by the time I got back he was laying there dead in his father's arms. Pretty difficult for me - my best friend since I was a kid was taken from me in an instant. It also gave me a greater respect for how precious life really is.

Well... at funerals, if that counts?

I once witnessed a horrific car crash and I was convinced the guy was dead, but in the end, he somehow survived.

I was at work at a gasstation and there was a Drug deal gone bad in the parking lot, the Buyer shot the dealer in the eye, neck and chest and took his bag of weed. The Dealers Friend(driver) took off running to my working place as he was being shot at(good thing my work glass is bullet proof!!!) that guy got shot in his back, arms and leg but lived. It looked like some one squirted Ketchup on his shirt, blood was kinda thick I think.

A week before this, those same guys went to a known drug house and shot some guy in the garage, right after he asked them "hey isn't it too early for Halloween" (this was one week before Halloween and they wore masks to try and rip off the dealers)

I've seen many. The worst was a young family, in a car accident. A drunk driver broadsided them at over 60mph, flipping the minivan.... None survived.

    Unhappy

my friend lived in a super cheap building, looked like a crack house for $120 a month(including water/electricity) two story building, and when we had to use the bathroom(community shared) we had to go down a hole in the floor by climbing down a ladder, we take a Baseball bat with us(lot of crazy druggies lol), and below was a long hallway lined with couple more tiny rooms people lived in, one of them was occupied by a bum bag lady. no one seen her come out for 5 days & stench was emanating from her room, when they finally checked on her she was dead, some one raped and killed her, she looked like a mummy with sunken eyes, naked, & shriveled skin, bony ribs popping out.

Well you can put the coffin in if it's made from wood, the metal ones we had to take the body out of it and discard them.

I was an EMT before what I do now while I was in school.
I've seen more tragedy and carnage than 90% of people.

I've unfortunately seen many, many people of all ages die.

Watched my dad die from prostate cancer.

I'll never forget that f*cking death rattle everyone talks about, it's awful, but you know it when you hear it.

Saw the body of a guy that had jumped off a building the saturday just gone. Did it in broad daylight in a very busy part of town. Was a very surreal and sad experience

Why negged. Those of you who do not or have not had to deal with it just don't realize how crucial it is to dehumanise it.

No, you won't forget it. I heard it in many patients as well as my grandmother and dad. It is much more impacting when it is your family.

    Why did you negg me?

If I went and cried about every cadaver or freshly dead body that I saw, I'd be mentally scarred and have dropped out of Med. Unless you learn to take it in your stride, which often means having a laugh with your colleagues, I doubt anyone would get through. It's how you desensitise yourself. Don't negg out of ignorance.
If you LOL'D then please rep. :)
