Creatine

Hi : )

I'm trying to gain weight, but am finding it downright hard, since I'm recovering from an ED - I now really want to gain weight (muscle, that is), but still have a bit of a weird relationship with food which is making it tough. Anyhoo, that's all a long story! The point is, I've recently bought creatine, having wanted to for ages, but still haven't started taking it, since I'm worried I might be wasting it if I start taking it before I've managed to start eating enough cals to gain. Thoughts? Also, I'm wondering how much to take - it's in pill form, and instructs 6 daily, 3 each side of workout. But since there's not quite as much of me as the average person, should I have that much? And should I take any on non lifting days, which are two a week?

Hugely grateful for any help!

Creatine will not 'cause weight gain'. It is simply something that aids in energy/ strength/ endurance and stamina in your workouts (so it can actually help when losing weight too as it helps to maintain the intensity of your workouts).

Some people notice water weight - which is, well, just water weight (it does this because it increases intramuscular hydration....). But a 'big' degree/shift of water is relatively less likely if you dose appropriately to your body weight (which for someone your size would only be 2-3g a day). You don't need to 'load' either - simply start at that dose (because you will build up appropiate cell levels anyway).

Anyway - If you are trying to gain weight... you are better off eating food (as you said) and training appropriately.... Because at the end of the day the creatine is just a 'supplement'.

But with that said - you can start with the creatine now
