prunes just irritate your bowel lining. try dried fruits like apricots, figs, prunes but in moderation. fresh fruit like pawpaw or papaya stimulate digestion and peristalsis. drink pear juice too. bran and bran cereal, oats, nuts, broccoli, spinach. pear juice however works the best its not a stimulant so it shouldnt be uncomfortable or embarrassing and unexpected.

I usually go only once a day in the morning (right after breakfast), and I find nothing gets my bowels "moving" faster than a bowl of high-fibre cereal, topped with original All Bran. That, and 1-2 bottles of water. I usually have to make a bee line for the washroom as soon as I set down my bowl (yeah, I know, TMI hahaha).
