Just 500
When entering a positive energy balance, you don't have to put in the plus sign.
also, after i enter the numbers on every blank, i just hit enter?
However, it calculates automatically, so you only have to click on another cell, tab, or move onto another one with an arrow key.
on top oifthe page theres a "start" button...do i hit that after i have entered all of my info in?

hey again, have gone through the new version with up to date stats and im a a little confused whether this is correct or not.
have gone over parameters, but it says down the bottom calorie needs to lose 1.3kg p/w is 2388, although up top it says while eating at maintenance it is 3956 calories.
I would also put that previous 2388 into 'Enter a Calorie intake' and it would say that i would be in more than 14% starvation mode. (it says calculated calorie deficit of -1568)
sorry for another help question, but much appreciation for the forcaster.

3956 is your total daily energy expenditure (TDEE) while eating at maintenance.
2388 would yield an actual deficit of 1568 if metabolism did not drop at all in response to cutting back Calories. This is never the case, though.
Decreased thermogenic effect of food due to less digestion and assimilation of food is one factor in lowered TDEE while cutting. The first value for energy needs to lose a given amount per week factors only this in. This is labeled as If Not In Starvation Mode. The other values go 3%, 7%, 14% starvation mode, respectively.

Since this is now on page 25, here are the links to the current version of Total Metabolism Forecaster.
TMF v1.982 (MS Excel)
TMF v1.982 (MS Excel 2007+)
TMF v1.982 (OO.org)
Thanks.

I began the next version of Total Metabolism Forecaster last week, which is being done on Microsoft Excel 2010 currently.
Changes and new features that I'm planning for:
Selections for combination body types in the Metabolic Speed Adjustment section
Possible implementation of a refeed part in the Regimen Forecaster area at the request of a member
For the Regimen Forecaster, I would like to add a feature where one can enter a target date for getting to goal as an alternative to weight change rate, and it then yields the required rate (e.g. pounds per week) to achieve the goal by that given date.
For this upcoming version, the interface will be completely overhauled. The program will now be multi-sheet within the workbook. As of now, I plan to have the user input area in the first sheet, the Standard Parameters in the second sheet, the Auxiliary Parameters in the third sheet, the Regimen Forecaster in the fourth sheet, and the metabolic calculations in the final sheet.
I plan to have a bar up top of each sheet with navigational links to make going from area to area easier. Within the bar, I may also put a display of some of the metabolic calculations. The bar will always be displayed while scrolling.
Do you have other feature requests?

Yellow indicates that the desired rate of weight loss or gain you entered is above suggested or recommended max.
For weight loss, this is two pounds per week if no body fat percentage is entered as two pounds per week is typically the most that one should lose per week in order to ensure that weight won't be regained. With a body fat percentage entered, it is up to three pounds per week. Those with a very high amount of body fat are able to get away with a faster rate of weight loss than others.Last edited by Robby Coker; 02-04-2011 at 07:05 PM. Reason: clarification
