Recovery Time Efficiency

I'm having a problem lately. When I started my whole workout routine almost 2 months ago I tried to make my rest times between sets 30-60 seconds. Usually if I got to 60 seconds it still wasn't enough rest.

Well since, I've gotten much stronger but now I question my workout efficiency. If I wait at leat 45 seconds, it feels like I rested for too long even if I pushed the more recent set to muscle failure. And when I start up the next set it's as if the former set was nothing. When Im done with a complete workout I feel as if I'm recovering too quickly. I'm not sweating as much, my pulse slows down much faster that when the 30 seconds is up Im rearing up to go again.

Is this normal? I mean I'm pushing myself as hard as I can to where my muscles just can't take anymore but when I walk out of the gym it's as if I hardly had a workout. I guess that after 2 months I still expect to feel like absolute crap when Im done working out.

You guys have any advice?

"I'm not afraid to die on a treadmill. I will not be outworked. You may be more talented than me. You might be smarter than me. And you may be better looking than me. But if we get on a treadmill together you are going to get off first or I'm going to die. It's really that simple. I'm not going to be outworked." -Will Smith
