no, i wasn't sure how to find the horizontal flow of a vertical jet. i ended up realizing i needed to use mechanical energy balance but there was only 5 minutes of class yet, and that equation is REALLY long, so i didn't really have time to solve. also, the area of the disk on top of the jet (that the jet was holding up) wasn't necessarily given; little did i know, the prof was telling everybody to assume it was known (but didn't make a public announcement) so yeah.Originally Posted by stringtheorist
