How much does a football lineman eats?
Hi I'm searching for awhile and I couldn't find a correct answer jet. I heard about that a lineman needs 5000 calories up to 7000. I also wanna know how much a lineman needs in the offseason. Thanks

Everyone is going to be different. It depends on their training regiment. How can you honestly expect a specific answer?

There caloric intake is pretty high and in about that range. I was talking to a former linemen in the gym and he said he eats over 5000 a day. I guess it all depends on how much energy they burn. With that size they have to maintain a lot.
Just doing the math of maintaining their size of lean body mass would be a good indication if they are eating 1 to 1.2 grams of protein per pound of lean body mass. I'm not sure how much body fat linemen have though.

Are you asking b/c your a lineman and want to mimick the pros? If so you may wanna start slow as their body is use to these high calories diets and there training is probably much more taxing on their bodies than yours. (This is assumed of course). 6'3 240 is pretty good size... Whats your calorie intake now?

Are you an actual lineman? Do you think you have a real shot at the pros? 6'3'' will hinder you a lot unless you are a center or at least 330. Because living at that weight is extremely unhealthy. NFL Olineman have a very low life expectancy.

During a cut I limit myself to about 4,000 calories daily-4,500 calories daily, but when bulking I consume 6,000-6,500 calories (in a zig zag manner).
By zig zagging what I mean is for 3 days I will consume 6,000-6,500 calories daily, then for 4 days I will consume 5,000 calories daily. This is what I have found works best for me.
Good luck brother!

It's been about 8 years since I read the article, but I know that Tony Siragusa eats 100 burgers every time he goes to White Castle (at least, at that time).
According to the nutritional info, each burger is 140 cals and each cheeseburger is 170 cals. So, 14,000 - 17,000 calories in one setting for the Goose. Of course, he was much bigger than most lineman - over 400 pounds at some times, he always had to stay under that weight.
Crazy!
