One step at a time
It is often difficult to imagine yourself reaching a great achievement. You look at someone who has built a massive fortune, or created a magnificent work of art, or achieved a prominent leadership role, and you have trouble identifying with that person.
When you look at any great achievement, usually you can see only the end result. That's because the splendor of such an achievement overshadows all the little details that went into creating it. Yet the real substance of achievement is in the day-to-day details.
The person who builds a highly successful business does it mostly by doing the kinds of things with which you're already quite familiar -- talking on the phone, writing letters, paying the bills, buying new toner for the copy machine. The greatness in the achievement comes not from any supernatural skill or special advantage, but from persistence and commitment.
Great achievements are built day by day, step by step, by people just like you. Greatness comes from ordinary actions, focused on a specific objective, followed with steadfastness and resolve. Almost anything is possible when you are committed to pursuing it one step at a time.

Assume you can
Expand your idea of what is possible. Dream and imagine and explore the fertile territory beyond your current assumptions.
Whatever your situation in life may be, you are not confined to it. With imagination, focus, commitment and effort, you can move yourself to an even better, more fulfilling reality.
Beyond the existing horizon of your experience are countless possibilities you have not yet considered. Dare to go where you have not gone before, to see life in new and empowering ways.
There is a very real path to the fulfillment of your deepest, most positive and profound desires. Instead of convincing yourself and others that you can’t get there, open yourself to more possibilities.
If you assume you cannot get there, that very assumption will keep you chained to where you are. Yet when you assume you can, you will.
Beyond your past experience, beyond your current assumptions, are powerful new possibilities. Imagine those possibilities, find positive, sustained energy in them, and bring them gloriously to life.

Live your life forward
Don’t be sad or regretful about the opportunities you’ve missed. Get excited and enthusiastic about the opportunities now available to you.
Take joy and wisdom and inspiration from the past. And leave the rest of the past in the past.
Look forward from where you now are. Live your life forward with the highest of expectations.
Whatever you may have, you have it good. Now is the time to relentlessly build on that goodness in your life.
Think of all the things you can do today that will make tomorrow better. Think that way, and act on your thoughts, day after day after day.
Every moment is an opportunity to make a difference. Use each of those opportunities for positive purpose, and delight in the results as you live your life forward.

Reluctance
If you are reluctant in your efforts, the results will come with the same reluctance. Anything that is attempted grudgingly has only a slight chance at best of succeeding.
Your reluctance is telling you something. When you are unenthusiastic about taking action, it means that you're really not committed to being or having whatever that action will bring.
You may say every day that your goal is to increase sales by 25% this quarter. You may even have put it on paper. But if you don't enthusiastically make the effort, day after day, to reach that goal, it is not truly your goal. You don't really want it.
There is never any lack of ambition when the objective is compelling enough. Stop following goals you're reluctant to pursue. Find ones that will keep you awake at night with excitement. There is something you really, truly desire. Let go of what the world expects. Touch your very own yearning. Allow it to fill you with ambition, and eagerly go for it.M O O N spells LBM

Connections
When you turn on a light switch, consider what makes that light come on. Behind that seemingly magical switch are thousands of miles of cable, electrical generating stations, towers, transformers, underground conduits and, most importantly, the countless thousands of people who design, build, operate and maintain all of it. And for every one of those people and every one of their functions, there are even more people who support them -- all behind a single light switch.
The things from which you benefit every day -- water, food, phone service, books, clothing, soap and more -- most of which you routinely take for granted, come to you through the effort and commitment of the other people in your world. In a very real and tangible way, on a moment-by-moment basis, you are intricately connected to the rest of the world.
Why, then, would you even consider doing harm to, or taking advantage of anyone else? How could you ever find satisfaction in the misfortune of another? We're all in this together.
It is tragically shallow to think that whatever appears to be in your best interest is truly in your best interest, if it causes harm to another. Keep in mind that you are connected to your world on many levels and in countless ways. Seek those things that benefit both you and the world of which you are a part.M O O N spells LBM

Use it now
Today will proceed right along, no matter what you do. You can't stop it, and you can't hold on to it. What you can do, is use it for all it's worth.
You can choose to put forth the absolute minimum effort necessary to make it through this day, and you will indeed make it through the day. Trouble is, tomorrow you'll end up right back where you started, with the need to make it through another day.
Instead, use today for all it's worth. Make the effort to make some real progress. You know what needs to be done. You know what you want to accomplish. Now is the time to do it.
Instead of "making it through" focus on "making it happen." Think of one little thing you can do today, that will improve all your tomorrows, and then do it. Surely you have the time and energy for one little improvement. Think of the difference it will make.
When you're already moving sideways, it doesn't take that much more effort to change your direction to forward. Today is here right now. Use it!M O O N spells LBM

Understanding
Keep in mind that every person with whom you come in contact today has a perspective that is different than yours. Though you have much in common with others, there are many differences as well. Even those who agree with you have a different perspective than your own.
No one else knows exactly what you know. No other person shares your unique set of experiences, just as you do not share the exact same experiences as anyone else.
Your success in working with other people will depend largely on the degree to which you are able to understand and consider their unique perspectives, and on your ability to make your own perspective understood.
Your knowledge, your experiences, your opinions, your assumptions are not necessarily shared by others. Make the effort to sincerely understand, and to be understood. It will add value and effectiveness to every undertaking.M O O N spells LBM

Someday
Someday I'll spend some time playing with my kids, but today I have to get a little more work done. Someday I'll work on that new idea, but today there are too many interruptions. Someday I'll sit down and get focused on my goals, but today is just not right.
Someday never comes. It is always today. Things which you schedule for someday will not ever happen. Today is the space in which you are able to act, so make the most of it.
No matter how far-reaching your goal may be, no matter how long it will take to complete, there is something you can do about it today. There is a step you can take which will propel you forward. What things have you been scheduling for someday? Start to work on them this very day. Find something you can do now, and keep on going until they're accomplished.
Move your dreams from someday to this day, and you'll begin to surely and steadily fulfill them.M O O N spells LBM

While you have it
You have exactly one opportunity to make today the best it can be. Once the day is over, you've either made the most of it or you haven't. You've either made use of it while it was here or you've let it slip away.
One day may not seem like much. After all, there will be others. But unless you respect and value each day as it comes along, even enough days to last a dozen lifetimes would be of little use.
Today is yours right now. Use it to get things done. Use it to make a positive difference. Use it to change your momentum for the better, or to maintain the forward direction you've already established. There are plenty of things to do. You know what they are. Today is here for you to use.
The most gnawing regrets are for things not done, for actions not taken, for opportunities not acted upon. Don't set yourself up for regret today. Get busy! Use it while you have it, and tomorrow will be even brighter.M O O N spells LBM

Getting your way
Is the desire to get your way, actually getting in your way?
Often we're so obsessed with getting our way, that we miss out on the good things that life has to offer. We whine and complain about insignificant details, and life just passes by without us. We might win the battle of the moment, but in the long run we lose.
Happiness is not defined by always getting your way. Sure, you have things you want to accomplish, things you want to have, things you want to be. But remember, fulfillment does not always come where we expect to find it. The things we desire will come, though not necessarily in the ways we anticipate.
Don't be so obsessed with getting your way, that you lose the opportunity to have what you really want.M O O N spells LBM

What's the rush?
A sense of urgency is useful, valuable, to be desired and encouraged. Yet there's a big difference between working with urgency and rushing through your work.
Yes, you want to get it done as quickly as possible. You also want to get it done right. Because getting it wrong and having to start over will cause an even bigger delay than taking the time to do it right.
Focus on what you're doing. Put the worries or excitement about what's coming next out of your mind. Give your full attention to the task at hand. Take the time to do it right, so you won't have to do it again.
If you've tried speeding up and it doesn't seem to get you anywhere, consider slowing down. Speed is not the only thing that matters. Quality matters. Effectiveness matters. Paying attention matters. If you were having surgery, would you want the surgeon to rush through the operation?
Respect what you're doing enough to give it the time and attention it deserves, and see how much more you can accomplish.M O O N spells LBM

Beyond circumstance
No circumstance has the power to distract you from the direction you have chosen. Anything that knocks you off track does so because you have allowed it to. Keep in mind that you give power to your circumstances. You imbue them with your life, your purpose and your meaning. They are your reflection, not your essence.
The world around you can influence you to the extent that you allow it. There is a part of you that no one, no thing can ever touch without your participation. The direction in which you point and focus that essential core of your being will largely determine the quality of your life.
Pain and pleasure may both be quite compelling, yet they are outside of who you really are. Circumstances may be very alluring or terribly frightening, yet you exist beyond those circumstances. Keep that ever in mind, and be true to your greatest possibilities.M O O N spells LBM

Perspective
Look up at the stars on a clear night. You are not looking at some illusion. They are really there. The vast magnificence of the universe is not "out there," it is real and it is here. You are right in the middle of it.
Though your problems of the moment may seem overwhelming, stop and ask yourself, "Compared to what?" Consider that the sun will rise tomorrow. The seasons will continue to change. The light from distant stars will continue to stream across the vast reaches of space, to sparkle before your eyes.
Are your challenges really insurmountable? If they seem to be, then enlarge your perspective. You have plenty of room to do that. You have an entire universe against which to consider those challenges. Back off far enough, and they will appear very tiny. Look at a big enough picture, and you'll find the courage, energy and inspiration to move on through those seemingly overwhelming problems.M O O N spells LBM

Real winners
A real winner is someone who can accept defeat graciously. A real winner does not plan to lose or aim to lose, and yet when the loss comes a real winner does not waste time on anger, complaints or blame.
A real winner finds value and learning even in defeat, then goes on to win a victory which outshines all the setbacks along the way. You can recognize a real winner by the way he acts when things don't go his way. You can spot a real winner by her positive, winning attitude even in the midst of defeat.
Even cowards can look strong when things are going in their favor. True winners show their strength regardless of the circumstances. Those who are willing to accept defeat when it comes in spite of their best efforts, are the ones who ultimately can claim true victory.M O O N spells LBM

Hear what you can learn
When you hear only what you want to hear, you're not really listening. Listen to what you don't want to hear as well. That's how you'll learn. That's how you'll grow. That's how you'll get stronger.
Though you may be confident in your knowledge, no one knows it all. No one has everything figured out. Others have much to teach you. Let their words add value to your life. There are opinions not your own which are very much worth considering.
Listen to learn. Really listen and consider what others have to say. If someone were to provide a sumptuous meal to you, would you leave it half eaten? When someone is gracious enough to share their knowledge and experience with you, make the most of a great opportunity. Listen and hear not only what you thought you wanted to hear. Listen and hear what you have to learn.M O O N spells LBM

Calm and effective
When you are at your busiest, when you are overwhelmed with things to do, when the pace is getting more frenzied by the moment, that is when an attitude of calm relaxation can do you the most good. Stepping back and calming down will actually move you ahead more effectively than nervous, anxious energy.
Though the deadlines loom large in your mind, they will come and go no matter what you do. Do your very best, do it quickly and efficiently, but don't get in such a rush that you waste most of your energy fighting against yourself. Produce results rather than just activity. Instead of just being busy, be effective. Spend your energy on achievement rather than on nervousness.
Right now, take a long, deep breath and know that you're making a difference. Let go of the anxiety. Experience the joy of being focused on positive pursuits. Stay calm, stay focused, and be your most effective.M O O N spells LBM
