    Strictly Whey???

I've been using only whey protein. Before bed I mix up 3 8oz servings. Drink 1 right before bed, 1 in the middle of the night when I get up to pee and 1 right when I get up. Is this cool or do you think I should invest in some casein for the before bed and skip the pee break?? -thanks

IMHO, and that is all it is, you could try something different. It could be that all of the drinking is causing you to have to get up an pee. I would think your body would benefit from a full night's sleep more than a few more grams of whey. Why not some cottage cheese before bed and then sleeping the whole night through?

    That's what I was thinking.

I'd rather sleep straight through the night. From what I understand cottage cheese is a much slower-released protein than whey, as well, so there's a long-term muscle feed v. the fast surge you get with whey.

x2....go with casein protein at night..get some sleep and give your body a rest, so it can grow. Hit the Whey in the morning and around your workouts..

thanks, I have to be honest and say that I get up once a night whether I drink the shake before bed or not. I've been that way for years. That's kind of how I came up with that idea. I figured if I'm up in the middle of the night anyway, why not.

I'm the same way, I get up once a night like clockwork and I don't drink or eat anything late......except for cottage cheese on nights after a hard workout day for the extra protein. I can't remember the last time I sleep thru the night without making that 4:30 walk..

Personally, I'm a 8 oz. cottage cheese and short glass of milk man.

One thing I can tell you is that since I started using t-bol (a test booster) I haven't had to get up and pee in the middle of the night. I have noticed some gains in lifting, but quite honestly if it did nothing else but cut out the nightly pee it's worth taking!

Yorkshireman I: Right! I had to get up in the morning, at ten o'clock at night, half an hour before I went to bed, eat a lump of cold poison, work twenty-nine hours a day down mill and pay mill-owner for permission to come to work, and when we got home, our dad would kill us and dance about on our graves, singing Hallelujah!

I'll take John Gargani's advice , the digestive system also needs rest. Like a battery it will charge better if fully discharged than partially discharged (IMO).
But then there's always the extreme.
