Does Poor Flexibility Affect Deadlift and Squats?

Most of my life I have played soccer, though I have not been very good developing or maintaining flexibility in my hamstrings, Glutes, calfs ect.

My question is this,

When I do deadlift of squats as I get lower down, I try my best to keep my back straightput at a certain point my hips seem to be pulled forward and thus creating a curve in my back?

Is this normal???
