What happens if you don't get enough protein?
So, I'm really curious what happens if youre a bodybuilder but don't get enough protein? You get enough to be healthy, but not the 1g per pound enough. Does your muscle simply stop growing? Do you get fatter due to lack of protein? Or is it a simple really slow growth of muscles? I'm really curious.

I read somewhere that bodybuilders made good gains on .6g/lb. If you don't get enough, you either lose it, maintain it, or gain slowly - depends on the amount.

I'm just guessing, but I would think you wouldn't build muscle as optimally as you could if you were consuming the 1-1.2g per lbs. Thats all just my opinion, which doesn't mean ****.

if you eat not enough protein you wont grow either you wont loose mass if you eat enough carbs

Not now chief...
If youre eating enough calories from other sources, youll stil grow, however your body has to synthesize the protein instead of just using an already available source. Its less efficient, and you wont grow as quickly, but as to how big a difference it makes depends on the individual.

Just follow the 1g/lb of protein and you cannot fail, so long as you make sure to eat a ****load of carbs and a fair amount of healthy fats.
You can eat less that 1lb/g and make good gains... it's the carbs and fats that open the doors to muscle gain.

This guy knows what he's talking about. DO NOT LISTEN TO THE 1.5-2g/lb bull****, even 1g/lb is more than enough (according to actual scientific studies). Actually scientific studies say .7-8g/lb, but 1g/lb is used to make sure you're not getting too little. Your body can only use so much to build muscle, and the rest just goes to energy and fat.

i just like to eat more protien..it's preference "too much" protien or the protein ur body doesnt synthesize for muscle building gets converted to glycogen or fat
