    Long overdue Feb 1st vids

    Here is my vid from a USAPL collegiate meet in Scranton PA from Feb 1st 2009. I look ridiculous in each attempt, I'm hoping I don't look that bad at nationals ><

    Squat- 435 / 512.5
    Bench- 280 / 308.5
    Deadlift- 495/ 534

    Goals:

    - Squat 500, Bench 325, Deadlift 550 raw at 181-220.

    - Give the recreational bodybuilder thing a solid effort.

    first off, Great Job!


    a) niko is the man
    b) you gotta get down faster my man, especially in that Hardcore.
    c) it looked like that suit was riding a bit low. That may have been what was keeping you from hitting the hole faster.
    d) get a bit more work in the Katana.

    Those words have not gone unheard :P I had that katana for 3 workouts before the meet, before that I was using a blast. The hardcore was about 6 sizes too small and on loan while I was waiting for my centurian. Most of those lifts felt alright as far as I remember, but I definitely facepalm watching the vids; right knee not knowing where the hell it should be going, letting my air out when trying to touch on bench. Sadly those were ugly ugly pr's. I failed at cutting to 165 so I weighed in at a very dehydrated 168 and just wanted to lift and leave that day Came out ok overall, but my squats were ugly and there was no reason I should have failed the 330 bench other then inexperience.

    So far training the past few weeks, I think for collegiates I'm going for at least 425/475/500 squat attempts, 308/330/350 bench and 500/530/550 deadlift.

    Openers at the end of this week so these numbers are subject to change but its what my plan as of now is.

    depending on the judging this year (and the preparedness of the top dogs in the 181s), 500,350,550 should put you between 12th and 7th place overall. Top Ten is a possibility for sure.
