    why do fighters never drink much water in between rounds?

    I have noticed this when watching an event, in between rounds the fighters will only take like a small sip of water, surely they must be really thirsty and want to guzzle down a lot of water after a round?

    am I missing something?

    Try drinking alot of water and then working yourself really hard....You will probably cramp up. And this is why they don't consume a whole lot of water. Same thing with any other sport. If you watch hockey, you see them spit the water out. It's so they don't cramp up.

    also they hydrate before a fight, its not water they need its oxygen.. they are not getting severely dehydrated in 15 minutes.

    water sloshing around in stomach = not fun

    during conditioning week of football (first week of practice) (we condition at end of every single practice though also), everyone would down water like crazy during water breaks

    then we would have to do sprints at the end with it sloshing around

    I can drink crap tons of water with out cramping, that being said for some reason i dont like drinking allot of fluid unless my work out has been going on for over an hour.
