Well somebody forgot to tell me how old I was and that I cain't add alot of muscle mass in a year,,, maybe if I had known,,this wouldn't have happen..
110 kind of an older pic..
Most current pic I have my avi,,, 150 to 145
Now the majority of my muscle gains have been in about the last 8 months..(maybe a year I'm not very good at tracking things) when I switched from volume and endurance training to mass building and strength training. Powerlifting.. I would guess I've gained about 30 to 35lbs of muscle.. I'm still adding mass but it's slower now.. no I don't take anything other then legal supps.

you guys are amazing.
It's good genetics, which I must not have, because I have gained at most 10 lbs of muscle since I started lifting almost 4 years agoYorkshireman I: Right! I had to get up in the morning, at ten o'clock at night, half an hour before I went to bed, eat a lump of cold poison, work twenty-nine hours a day down mill and pay mill-owner for permission to come to work, and when we got home, our dad would kill us and dance about on our graves, singing Hallelujah!

Well, I think you were also eating a calorie restrictive diet to lose fat as well weren't you? Losing fat + gaining muscle is a horribly slow process...albeit very healthy and tends to be a more permanent change.
I would also suspect that you gained more than 10 lbs as muscle density can change without growing alot in size.

possibly, I am still struggling with the fat loss!
I need to stay out of this thread, I can't relate to people who want to gain weight, no matter if it's lean or not!Yorkshireman I: Right! I started lifting a little over 3 months ago with the "you could look like this in 90 days" keeping space in my head. Now 3 months later I just don't look like that LMAO!! But.......I've lost 12 lbs (down to 194 now), I notice when showering that my body feels ALLOT tighter, and my average blood sugar has gone from about 140 down to around 100 (I'm a type 2 diabetic). Am I ever going to get huge? Most probably not but I DO look and feel allot better so for me it's worth the 6 hours a week I put in and if I gain 5 lbs of muscle this year it will be 5 more than I had when I started. Thanks to my friend Putt for getting me started on this and THANKS TO THE PEOPLE ON THIS FORUM for putting their knowledge up for all of us to share!! The progress pictures help allot to us newer people to keep us going so thank you for those also!!
Thank you guys and ladies,
Mick

Idk if it's that they want to but if it is easier to gain muscle when ya eat for it.. but there's no reason why you need to gain much fat.. personally I think you should only eat slightly over your cal needs when bulking. I've been doing bulk cycles followed by cutting for a few weeks and then back to bulking and leaning out agin..I believe it's helped me add muscle faster then I would have on say a recomp or lean bulk.. but I just that to get me a solid foundation .. aka the bulk of my mass.. now I'm working on leaning out a little more (I think I need to be around 140) while still adding some strength and muscle gains..though I expect them to come at a much slower rate now. LOL I did have to go threw a bit of a chubbiness on my first bulk..
This is from my first bulk and I weighted in at 150 here to but I didn't have as much near as much muscle here..LOL this though is the pic everyone likes best! Apparently men like it when girls are ... shall we say soft and curvy?? I got hit on more at this phase then any other point.Last edited by grace_ou; 03-15-2009 at 10:07 AM.

I can honestly say in my op that 25 pounds of muscle gain in 1 year for a newbie is not hard to do I did it . I started back a year ago at 250 and 35-38 % bodyfat lifting and could not see my feet I now weigh in at a average 237 and I would say I am in the 17% or lower area .
It's not the challenges that you face but how you face your challenges that is important .
