Sorry I can't help, but i have my own question related to that too.

What happens if they don't make it through? They sign a contract to become a marine, so do they keep at it until they make it through?

both my brothers are marines. ones in his MOS training right now, the others almost done with bootcamp. The #1 reason they say people drop out is because their mentality is wrong, or are too hung up on a girl (girl says i miss you come home, they dont want to lose them, etc.), or less likely they're not in shape.

generally if you aren't in good enough shape they'll put you in PCP (nicknamed pork chop platoon) basically to GET you in shape enough to do it.

One brother was 5'10'' 140 lbs going in and the one in right now is 5'11'' 180lbs, and one graduated and the other will. hope this helps

the only time i think they get dropped is if they get injured in a place where it could inhibit further service (like chronic back problem) which i believe is an other than honorable (medical) discharge, which you could maybe get for suicide watch in bootcamp if you have a history of mental problems (like depression), otherwise you'll get dishonorable

you can get recycled to the platoon that's behind you and if you keep getting recycled they will just separate you due to failure to adjust to the military. Main reason people don't make it trough is medical reasons, if you do get injured they will just put you in a platoon for injured recruits and you will stay there until you heal and then you start training again.

Mostly everybody makes it through boot camp. The ones that don't are the guys that try killing themselves. The medical drop-outs, etc. If you don't make a certain requirement they just keep dropping you back into diff. platoons. That would make any recruit want to graduate having to do more time there than required. Any specific questions just ask.

the most you will run in bootcamp is 3 miles so if you can run that without your knee hurting your good, but you will also hike with a heavy ass pack i think that's the worst part.

guy at my job said as long as your in good shape, it's all head games. He was telling me about having to fold his underwear into six inch squares and detail the threading on his shampoo bottles and stuff.
