How to eat 160+grams of protein a day???

I don't get it - the maths doesn't add up to me...

    2 EGGS = 32 grams of protein

steak 35 grams protein - ish

1 chicken breast - 26 grams of protein

After that - suppelement 23 grams of protein..

that's no more than 100 grams of protein -
how can you get an extra 60 grams of protein ???

so as i see it the ideal 1 gram per pound of body weight is too hard to eat - unless you're really rich and can afford 4 steaks every day - please explain!

I don't want to look like Arnie - but just defined - like christiano ronaldo

A cheap and easy way to get extra protein is to eat a big can of chicken or tuna. It's good for at least 40 grams of protein and costs around 2 bucks. You could also have an extra scoop of whey protein. Per serving, whey is usually real cheap. Eggs are cheap too.

    Just eat MORE.

Tuna, cottage cheese, chicken, lean red meat, eggs. Those are all protein dense foods.

You can also drink another shake throughout the day. What brand protein are you taking??

    i know what to eat....
peanuts, turkey, chicken, red meat, nuts.....egg, fish, protein shakes if desperate...

How about someone tells me what they eat each day and how much - who looks like christian ronaldo.

and how much it costs you?

From the things i've read on here - eating 8 eggs a day sounds a bit ridiculous to me.....what if you are at work or are out during the day - its ok if you're sat at home and can eat whenever you want...

I am having Muscle max Promax...

You're gonna have to make sacrifices. When I'm at work, I bring my own food in. If I don't have enough time in the morning there's still lots of high protein foods available. I'll either go to the canteen and eat a load of eggs from there, or buy milk, cottage cheese, nuts or jerky.

It's really not that hard. 3 main meals a day with approximately 25g of protein each, add a couple of mid morning/afternoon snacks..... a post workout shake... and another little meal right before you go to bed, and that's all your protein covered easily.

On my egg box - it says

1 egg = 16 grams of protein and 10grams of fat....

so??? is it because it's being cooked that it equals only 6-8 grams???

It's not expensive. Think of it like this. 10 cans of tuna a week. 3 whole chickens are like 10 bucks. A good source of protein like whey or casein. Like 20 a week.

    Weekly goal for your protein @ 160g a day. 1120g a week.

Tuna alone will put you at 400 of them. And another 400 from your shakes. And 3 chickens is more than the rest.

So $40 a week is MORE than adequate to come up with your protein intake.
Peanut butter will add calories if you need them.

    HMMMM

do you guys honestly think that protein shakes are dollar for Grams? They do seem awfully expensive to me - surely such a mass manufactured thing could be produced for a lot cheaper....

I paid ?32 - british pounds for a tub of musclemax progain which says will give me 30 servings approximately....I assume that means 1 scoope = 1 serving....

I see your point about Tuna....

Did you guys means Tuna steaks or Tinned tuna ????

As it happens - my family eats about 3-4 whole chickens a week... then usually like pork chop, lamb chop, belly pork the other days..... but i still don't see how that gets me near the daily intake..... Obviously you guys just find it so much easier because you're incharge of the food budget - in my house the money all goes to staple foods....and i can't influence it too much

The shakes are not cheap for what they offer. The fact is they are healthier than stuff like tuna. Don't get me wrong if you have the chance to eat 1 can of tuna and 1 shake, it's better to eat the shake. That's moderation though. If you are having to intake 100 added grams of protein. The shakes are good because you can't OD on them. Tuna has rumors of mercury. I personally don't care and eat the hell out of it when I'm bulking. I'm sure you can find cheaper protein even if you have to order it from the US and ship it.

PS don't listen to the numbers of protein per serving. Most compainies boost the number by making the serving size bigger. If it's a 30g serving, make sure it has 24g+ of protein. If it's 60g, make sure it's 49g+.

Musclemax stuff is overpriced. I buy optimum nutrition 100% gold standard for 40 quid a tub, which contains about 75 servings.

That's still over priced... I pay 17 quid for 5lbs of pure whey...no filler just 100% whey.

how can you get an extra 60 grams of protein ???

so as i see it the ideal 1 gram per pound of body weight is too hard to eat - unless you're really rich and can afford 4 steaks every day - please explain!

To get strong back in the day. I started off with a 135lb benchpress and a 205lb squat. I NEVER took a supplement, no protein no nothing. For 1 year in highschool all I did was eat a can of tuna a day to get protein. Just 1 no extras. I ate normal for the most part I didn't eat breakfast and ate school lunch, and ate dinner. Within 1 year on moderate protein nothing crazy. My lifts went up from 135-285 in bench, and squat from 205-385. The crazy protein helps. A LOT. But, you have to work with what you got.

Stop believing the supplement companies who promote the bro science. You need no more than 1 gram of protein per KILOGRAM of LEAN BODY MASS a day to grow.

The bull**** of 1 gram per lb of bodyweight is ridiculous. All that does is feed the supplement companies, drain your wallet, & strain your kidneys.

Well, try eating a few more meals.

    Cheap, great protein sources:
    -Canned tuna/chicken
    -Cottage Cheese
    -Beans
    -Nuts
    -EGGS

Also, 1 large egg is about 6 grams of protein, not 16.
Life is too short to be small.

WOW someone else has heard this before!!!!! I'm glad. I thought my sports nutrition class was the only one who mentioned 1g per kilo of LBM. And calories only should be calculated of LEAN MASS not total weight.
