how many of you come from a weightlifing family?
I'm just kind of curious as to how many of you come from a family of weightlifters. iv seriously been blessed with a family who has. My dad was a power lifter back in college and still lifts to this day. hell, my dad taught me proper squatting technique back in third grade! Most of my cousins (guys) are serious lifters who have competed in everything from strongman competitions to bodybuilding competitions. i'm just wondering how many of you come from a similar background.

Yeah my dad was the strongest in highschool and at Virginia Tech...he started all 4 years varsity at right guard. Had lifting records at both schools.
My uncle doubled his bodyweight on bench naturally and raw. He did 440 at 218.
My dad also held the state shot put and discus record for a long time as well.
I started working out in 3rd grade as well, and am currently training for strongman.
Edit: Colts wanted my dad to play for them, but he was done w/ football...had an injured back and wanted to start a family.

my old man has a few trophies from a few am comps and powerlifting style events, but more specific, like biggest bench for the over 90kg's and biggest squat for over 90's from a few different comps and that.

well my dad is the only one in my family that works out, he started me working out in grade 9 and I probably went for 3 or 4 months and then I didn't workout till my 19th birthday. **** if I kept lifting i'd be a beast.

No one else in my family that I know of. My stepmother started going to the gym 5 days a week for the past 2-3 months, but she probably only does cardio...

My uncle in his 40s has been lifting all of his life. My two older cousins both 2 years older than me lift a few times a week and probably don't even pay attention to diet, but they are hyooooge. My dad has worked out in the past. Alot of my other family members have had gym memberships but just to stay in shape not to get huge.

both of my brothers are natural freaks. both did bodybuilding through high school college and a few years after. Its weird neither my dads dad or moms dad were above average. But my brothers are incredibly strong, lean and acquired it naturally. I have pretty good genetics, and once i started training and dieting right I really started to see huge gains. Im like addicted to bulking

i wish, literally everyone from my immediate family is a cross country runner... My dad ran a sub 4:30 mile and a marathon in the low 2's. My mom set high school records in track, and my sister in 8th grade is on varsity track.
Unfortunately i have asthma so running is a fail for me, so i lift despite the fact that my genetics are not geared towards it at all

My dad has lifted on and off many times since highschool. He had HUGE biceps at one point but that's it.
No one else has ever took lifting half seriously.
