Here's some updates!
M4-2000 finally came in. Removed DD Rail and put on VTac 13"...I really like Troy/VTac rails due to their smaller diameter and lack of unneeded rail.
SWR Spectre came in too...put on .22 training rifle:
Got some barrel dimpling done to lighten my Larue Stealth Upper. Went with a Troy TRX to stay true to the theme. This is what I've currenly been 3 gunning with:
Meh, and here's the rest of the family:

Man, I am jealous. You have some beautiful ARs. I just got a DDM4 upper I'd been saving for, now let the saving begin for the lower.
I'm thinking LMT Defender complete lower with SOPMOD stock, standard trigger. You have any other recommendations for a nice complete lower? Is the DD lower with the MOE stock worth a similar price to the LMT I picked? That government is best, which governs least.

i came buckets. how much was the dimpling? also, how do you like the acog?
i really like aimpoints for their battery life, but i like acogs and accupoints b/c i get some magnification, and don't have to worry about batteries or electronics, just the tritium/fiber. still semi-torn, i ask because you own both, and while i get a lot of opinions from people, i never hear a whole lot from people that own a lil of everything.~traditional wet shaving crew~ (feels good man)

If I had just one AR, I'd most likely try to put a true 1-4x optic on it to get the best of both worlds.
That said, the Aimpoint can easily reach out and shoot accurately past 200m+. They are very durable and have fantastic battery life. I like my aimpoints when training within 75m but the Acog starts to shine past that. It will depend on what you see yourself primarily doing.

primarily i'd be shooting past 75 yds at the range. with any luck i wouldn't have to use it for HD, but in that case, about 7yds. i have a realllllly old aimpoint on there right now, but the brief time i've had with a tr24, i don't think i'd notice a huge difference in close range target acquisition. in any which case i lose the dot for a second when i flip my light on. i'm not sure if this is an issue with the trijicon or not as the chevron is much larger than small red dot.

Bird days. DAYS..................not nights. Birds can't fly at night unless they are owls, nighthawks or a few of the gnatcatchers.
Besides - the flashlight manorustingmetal would put on it would be more than enough to burn the feathers right off them.......then we're talking walking, flightless, little pink things.
Not quite the menace that zombies would accomplish.

Well that's your opinion. I have used my SLP in the past for hunting but its better served for a 3-gun/HD role.
My pump is something that can get tossed around in the dirt, ran over by a car, etc...and I won't lose sleep over it. I also tend to go tactical shooting with friends a lot more than hunting. My SLP has 1000rounds without a failure and I have complete faith on it =)

VERY NICE MOS! I'm waiting on a Spectre and a YHM QD .308. My class III dealer is cool and brought both out a couple weeks ago. The .308 was impressive and eliminated need for hearing protection. The most impressive was the little Spectre. I'll tell you right now, you're gonna want to get a bolt action .22lr for that thing. I shot .22lr sub-sonics in it and it was silly quiet. Tapping a coin on its side on a metal surface would be louder. It will be hard not to pug squirrels in my back yard with this thing.
How do you like the M4-2000? Is it quiet enough to shoot without ears? I like how compact it is. Very pricey though. I just about bought another YHM in 5.56 the other day for $325 shipped but the seller backed out.
I think a Sako Quad might be the best bolt rifle to get for use with that Spectre. You could have all those different caliber options and the can is rated for .22lr, .22wmr, .17 hmr, 5.7mm, and probably more i just don't know of."When you give up liberty for security you lose both."

I actually screwed up both my shoulders from a biking accident and haven't been able to go shooting in the past four weeks. I'm going this weekend so I'll let you know.
I do know the .22 is still pretty loud mainly because of it being semi and thanks for the recommendation.
I'm actually moving back to downtown Chicago next month so I'm going to be keeping my surpressors up in Wisconsin since my range is up there anyways. Trust FTW

Hey MANOSTEEL, I'd love to get your advice (or anyone else's as well), since you clearly know your stuff... Wanna take a shot at my question below? Essentially, what higher-end complete lower would you recommend? I'm mating it to a DDM4 upper, if it makes any difference in your opinion.

I've owned BCM, Larue, LMT, SLR15, Spikes, and GTS (global tactical supply).
For the most part, a lower is a lower. I have several billet lowers but honestly there's not a huge point outside appearance and fit.
My favorite lower was purchased for $115 from Denny's Guns/Global Tactical supply. I can't find stripped lowers but perhaps a complete lower would be better for you anyways.
