Water
I have been drinking a gallon of water (or there abouts) every day since i started lifting weights mainly because this is well advised by everyone who is involved
I watched a show on channel Dave the other day where richard hammond researched "Water Claims". The water claims being all the text in lots of magazines advising that drinking so much water a day helps keep fat down, loose weight, revitalise the skin, sharpen the senses, etc etc....
anyway hammon took some identical twins who have identical lifestyles, ssame job, same amount of children, live in the same area, etc etc
one of them drank just 1 glass of water a day for a month and the other drank 2 litres.
at the start of the month he had a doctor take some tests based on the benefits the magazines claim and then again at the end of the month
the tests showed there was no change, there didnt seem to be any benefits to drinking 2 litres of water a day.
weight the same, fat the same, skin the same, senses the same
I have read that water helps the body process protein, is this the only benefit to bodybuilders?

One glass of water per day is absurdly inadequate. 2 liters is what I'd call a bare minimum if you exert yourself. A gallon is probably about right for most of us here.
I mean, screw the scientific approach, do what makes sense to you. Take the piss color test and you'll have a better idea of how hydrated you are, or aren't.

Good for you for quitting! This so-called "water" is a very dangerous substance. Read all about it here: http://www.netreach.net/~rjones/no_dhmo.html.

I know that when I drink little water and have my share of protein, lets just say there are issues. So yeah, I think if the twins were sedentary people with a 60 30 10 type diet that might be fine.

Science isn't always the perfect indicator when humans are invovled. Do what feels best for you, there are just so many variables that influence how we perform and respond to life.
