Bodybuilding-Fitness Cruise
Please share this with your bodybuilding and fitness friends!
I have been asked to be a guest trainer on a Carnival Western Caribbean Fitness Cruise July 13 ? 17. There will be free workout classes and workshops on nutrition, supplements, healthy living and other topics. If there's enough interest, we will offer a Bodybuilding 101 workshop for people interested in competing. The Carnival Imagination has just undergone a huge upgrade and has a great fitness center/spa, adults-only pool and everything else needed for a great and affordable fitness-oriented getaway. As one of the guest trainers, I am able to offer bodybuilding.com members a discounted rate that is lower than Carnival's website rate ? as low as $304 per person. The cruise leaves from Miami with stops in Key West and Cozumel, and a full day at sea to just kick back and enjoy the summer Caribbean sun! If you'd like more info, send me an e-mail or PM. The reservation deadline is March 17. Hope to see you onboard The Imagination!

You would be a great guest speaker at the Bodybuilding 101 seminar, except you would show up the main presenter (me!). Good luck getting ready for the Nationals!

Straight cruise mate? I ask because out of Sydney we have Fitness Cruises which are polite ways of advertising gay cruises. Me missus and I love to cruise but are tired of Taz and the Great Coral a treasure you know if you hav not seen it. We would luv to do a jamaica run. Airfare would be the killer. Any deals there?

I hope it's a hit and they want to do more of them! I Like cruises but get bored quickly. (Contact Royal Caribbean and see if they'll do one. )

Good luck. Living in south Florida, I have been on 20+ cruises. I have noticed that usually the first full day (Day2) the gym is packed. As the cruise progresses, fewer and fewer people are in the gym and by the end the typical people are the hardcore types that actually bring their own lifting gloves, wristwraps on the cruise with them.
The gyms usually have a decent selection of cardio equipment, and a bunch of machines, and a small free weight section, which is usually exclusively dumbbells.
It is always a hoot seeing people "testing out" the equipment with jeans and flip flops. Unfortunately, that nonsense and the inherent liability usually results in limitations on the free weights.
However, my last cruise (October 08) was on the Royal Caribbean's monstrosity (Liberty of the Seas) and I was shocked to see a Smith Machine, which would allowed one to do squats, deads, and even bench without being forced to use machines or dumbbells. I don't remember how many plates they had, but i think there were 4 45's, 4 35's, 4 25's and a bunch of 10's, 5's.
I haven't been on the Imagination in about a decade so I don't recall that ship's set up.
It would be cool if you can get some bodybuilders on the cruise, because Bill Phillips' program Body for Life has gone on group cruises and let me tell you, that is one time where the gym will be PACKED as soon as it opens.

Thanks, Snorkleman. This is something new for the lead trainer and me, so we appreciate the insights. We are hoping to find enough people who are serious enough about bodybuilding and fitness, and want to have fun, learn new ideas and share their experiences with others.

I'd love to go and I could hugely profit from your seminar, unfortunatly it just isn't in the cards this year.
Good luck!!! I hope you can do one when I can go in a year or so.

Lauren -- One of the other guest trainers is a woman from Tennessee. I will pass your message to her and to the lead trainer, in case they know of any other women looking for a cabin-mate.
