This is what I had in the Army. Loved it.
Edit: or you can go to an Army surplus store and get an old Bayonet.

Oh good stuff. I imagine it would get pretty annoying with a flip open type knife..

Yeah.. sometimes it does. but pocket knives are a lil too cheap n their blades just pretty much suck compared to a fixed blade.

Cold steel makes great knives you should really look over their website, they have lots of good stuff in good price ranges to, and better prices can be found at other dealers/websites.
There Voyager series is FANTASTIC you wouldn't have to worry about it breaking either because even though it's a 4 inch folding knife I've used it to pry open car doors the lock is rated at like 350 pounds.
If you absolutely have to have a fixed blade though I would go with their Recon Tanto or srk
You should order their more proof DVD so you can see their selection and their knives capabilities.
I've also found that this guy gives great knife reviews
http://www.youtube.com/user/nutnfancy
Hope this helps.

To fuking stab someone in the face if they attack you(serious).
I had a SOG tigershark, that thing was too big. I mean you could gut jaws with that thing. SOG makes great knives and I would look at the seal pup or the pentagon if you wanted a double bladed dagger. I'm kind of against serrations (even though they cut rope better) as they are tougher to sharpen if you really use the thing.

So the knife is just going to see heavy duty EDC use? If so, then you should try the RAT RC-3, it has micarta handles, comes in 1095 steel or D2 if you want to pay the extra bucks.
Here's a pic

They also come with rounded pommels if you don't want a pointed pommel.

I have a SOG Seal Pup knife and love it. Ka-bar and Buck make some good knives as well. You can find some great tough folding knives, Kershaw makes some tough heavy duty folders.
