Cutting Advice Please! :)

All:

I am 170 and I am slowly bulking to 180. As I prep to cut I wanted to seek advice on how to go about this. I really struggle with a few things:

A) When doing cardio to lose fat.....when I get hungry....do I take in a meal or will that not work to lose the fat?

B) What foods should I AVOID

C) I work very hard to clean bulk....any tips to be mindful of?

Thank you all.

Keep it simple. Cutting requires a calorie deficit. Get at least your body weight in grams of protein and keep lifting heavy. Keep the primary focus of your training on lifting. Your body needs a reason to hold on to muscle while in a calorie deficit. Cardio is not entirely necessary to cut, but it can accelerate the process and/or make it easier on you as you can eat more if you are burning more. Do it whenever it is convenient for you. It's really not that hard at the end of the day.

Hope that helps.

the best tip I can give is planning. Don't wait till your hungry, then eat, but work out what your maintenance calorie amount is, minus 500 cals so you are in a deficit, then spread out your meals throughout the day aiming for that total.

Eat foods that are filling such as fibrous carbs (green vegies) and some good fats (eg, nuts) and have plenty of protein to ensure you don't lose too much muscle.

Combine that with weight training and some cardio and you have a recipe for success.
