I stretch during and after too. My main stretches are in between sets when squatting (touching toes, pulling leg behind my back), between sets when benching (letting my arms hang at my sides).

    My option isn't on there.

I used to stretch, but I don't anymore. Recent research seems to show that stretching doesn't do much good, and can actually reduce your performance in strength activities.

Personally, I just do a few light warmup sets to get the blood flowing and that is it. No stretching before or after.

Stretching as injury prevention seems to be exaggerated

    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17943822

    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10593217

Neither does stretching before and after exercise help prevent DOMS

    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17943822

    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12202327

    Stretching doesn't improve performance either

There are actually a bunch more studies out there. These are just a few. Some evidence suggests that stretching may increase ROM, but it is not clear whether this is due to muscle elongation or just a greater tolerance for the stretch.

I am thinking about incorporating stretching into my workouts after I workout. Shoulders and lower back have been very tight the past 9 weeks. Any of you have a routine that works for you?

I do light stretching in the sauna for about 10 minutes before and after...I find the heat helps my muscles out a lot...

I never really stretch although I know I should. I feel super tight and cramp constantly - probably due to not stretching at all in the past year. Oh well.

I started it 3 years ago. I do some form of it. Hany also does FST-5 as well and I like it bette. I worked with one of his coaches for a few years IFBB Bleu Taylor. He was the one that got me doing it. I love it. Yet it may not be the way for others.
