    Stress fracture

So I have two stress fractures in my fourth and fifth bones in my right foot. I think it was caused by a certain pair of shoes I was wearing. They just weren't right for what I was looking to do (running and basketball). So now the doc says I can't run on it for 6-8 weeks. I usually do my lifting first and then my cardio. I'm a cardio junkee but I only like to run. Is there anything I can do to speed up the healing process? Thanks in advance for any advice

Follow the advice of your doctor and don't be tempted to do the wrong thing! Stress fractures require patience.

Afterwards, I would contact a podiatrist to see if the shoes were the problem, or maybe your training, or if you have a biomechanical problem with your foot: if so, then you might need some prescription inserts made.

Can you do exercise bike work while your foot recovers? Or maybe pool work?

Yeah stationary bike is really my only option. He said the olyptical was okay too but I did it for an hour and my foot killed the next morning. The only thing about the bike is that it doesn't really burn enough calories to keep me satisfied.
