Canned tuna....reccomendations?
I've decided that these school lunches are gross and gonna start packing my own lunch, im thinking of 2-4 slices of whole grain bread with 1-2 cans of tuna
and an apple.
Do i have to be careful on the type of tuna brand? what are the nutrtion facts im generally looking for fat /sodium /calories /protein wise? (im looking for some canned tuna with light mayo flavoring?) also if anyone have alternative healthy lunches suggestions feel free to tell! thanks ahead of time

go with tuna in water. regular tuna i fine with a little bit of mayo or miracle whip. what i tried today and loved was a can of albacore tuna with lite ranch and buffalo wing sauce (wing sauce has about 0 cals). it was delicious.

One of my classmates was a powerlifter. He prefered canned chicken because it wasn't as salty as tuna. He'd eat it right out of the can. That made sense to me since I have to have my tuna with a mayo.
PS - don't let any "fine-dining" restaurant try to sneak aioli past you as some sort of fancy sauce. It's mayo, just flavored.

I usually get chicken-of-the sea brand in water. I used to use starkist but found that when i squirted out the excess water a lot of tuna would come out with it because of how finely cut the tuna was. Mix it with a tbsp of light mayo and slap that sucker on wheat bread. Or straight out of the can I'm in a hurry. I try not to eat more than 3 or 4 cans a week total just to make sure I'm not absorbing too much mercury.

starkist tuna creations does the work for you. i keep them with me and order salad then just dump it on - you could do the same with bread. the whole pouch is around 35 grams of protein and 160-220 calories.

one thing not many people notice about tuna is even the same brand of tuna stacked on the shelf side by side can have different nutrition facts. i have seen for instance bumble bee ranging between >1gram of fat to 4. not huge numbers but just something i wanted to throw out there for people cointing calories on a cut

I can't stand the starkist brand but everyday I eat 2 cans of tuna with 2 slices of whole wheat bread. I mix it with a tablespoon of light mayo and or mustard and some sliced pickles.
