"True" weight
Hello ladies!
I am new to this board and bb.com, so forgive me if this has been asked/answered in the past. But I wanted to know...
How do you measure your "true" weight?
For instance I wake up and weigh myself I weigh 123.4. THen I weigh myself before I go to bed and the number varies from 125 to 127!
How much do I weigh?!?! Is there a such thing as "true" weight?
Thanks for your time!

For those types of numbers I use what I weigh around midday. It's what I use here as well. What I wake up weighing doesn't last very long

I use what I weigh in the morning after I sleep in because it's least likely to be influenced by what I've eaten...unless I'm puffed up from Chinese food or dehydrated from alcohol the night before or something.

Lol! Why do I think you like seeing a smaller number while I like seeing a larger number?

i like to weigh myself after a huge buffett...LOL.
in all honesty it really doesn't matter, there is not true weight. pick a time of day to weigh yourself and stick to it. to go even further the scale doesn't even matter...do you really think I would care if angelilna jolie told me she weighed 300lbs??

Measure yourself once a week.
Its one (not very important factor) in my opinion of many.
Measurements and a reliable BF% (calipers) are much more consistant. Also, I have helped enough females in my day to know the numbers game. The female system has too much variability depending on multiple things ( hormones, diet, stress, birth control...etc.) to really even concentrate on it.
The mirror is your best friend, and it never lies.

I get that. I use my morning number to correlate with my training. But I use the afternoon number for everything else as it's more reflective of what I weigh the rest of the day. Like on my driver's license renewal. But it doesn't really matter. And for me, there is a psychological component. Fully clothed I'll weigh 5 pounds more in the afternoon. That number sounds less skeletal
In my house you're lucky to find DVD's in their case and in one location. Much less alphabetized

I'm a libra...so we're pretty close. My daughter is a libra as well, but there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to how she organizes things. I'm not sure she really does. LOL

I'm a Libra too and I am total "type A" control freak. I weigh in the morning and in the afternoon...and sometimes before bed. I know, I know, I know...I shouldn't do it. I don't want to say I'm obsessive about it...but I tell you what it does do for me..I know exactly how my body reacts to salty stuff, bad stuff, to when my period is coming and just a general understanding of why the numbers vary. That way, when the number is "off", I can pretty much pinpoint exactly why.

For the awesome Libra ladies that replied to my post:
Horoscope for 3/6/09
You do have enough going on right now -- there is no need for you to worry about what people will think of you if you say no to a few projects. It's a good day for the status quo, at least as far as you're concerned!

Yah I usually weight my self mid morning, not when I am completely empty but when I have some food in me just enough so I know where I stand. =)

I don't think I'd call myself "Type A." Probably depends on what we're talking about. Sometimes it's easy for me to be like, "screw it," but sometimes I feel like I get overly aggravated over what amounts to nothing. LOL

I do weigh pretty much every morning for the same data. I can correlate fluctuations with foods, hormones, muscle pump, etc. But every now and then it does throw me for a loop. A couple of weeks ago I was obviously bloated, almost 1/2" on my waist. But the scale showed a loss. Scale went up when the bloating went away. Still scratching my head on that one. I know I wasn't full of air

pending the reason for weighing ones self, i would normally call the morning weight (after fasting all night as you sleep and after a toilet trip) the true weight. this is the time your body has the least amount of stored food or liquid in your body, so, this means that about 99 percent of what is left to weigh is muscle, bone or fat.
However, i would also see the point that we nearly always have food or fluid in our body so weigh later in the day, but the fact of the matter is that, unless its muscle bone or body fat that your weighing, then its not your weight as such, its just something your carrying.
If you weight after you have eaten, your now weighing the food you have eaten also, or any fluid you have drank. its no different than weighting yourself while hold the food or liquid in your hand as it is to hold it in your stomach.
for dieting purposes and trying to figure out calorie intake needs etc then your morning weight is the weight i would feel to be most acurate.

I was dating another libra for a really long time who, every time someone would get off his couch (for 30 seconds to get a drink or whatever), he'd get up and straighten up the couch's cushions. I ended up apologizing to him once, thinking "WTF, how am I supposed to sit on your couch without screwing up the cushions?" and it turned out I wasn't the first to say something about it. It didn't upset him that "someone messed up his cushions"...it was just some weird impulse he couldn't help but respond to. LOL
I'm KINDA that way, but the "peacekeeper" in me will wait until someone is gone to fix what they messed up. LOL
