Dumping failed squat weight.
How does one do this? Especially using a monolift. This has been something im curious about for a long time.
I've only dumped 495 once in a power rack. I fell forward, and bar caught on pins set low. I had a spotter too, we tried making it back up, but it couldnt.
How would I dump the weight if I was using a monolift? Can 3 spotters get me back up? 1 on each side, and behind.
Any experiences?

For one if you have spotters always stay with the weight or you may hurt them and yourself even more.
With a monolift you can use chains or really heavy duty straps.

There are two guys I lift with who get up to the 700-800 lb range with squats, our racks don't really have safety pins so we always make sure there are enough people to spot. Unluckily for these guys the majority of our team fits in the 181-198 category so we end up doing 5 man spots :P Big guy in the back, two on the sides then two in between too add some extra support to the plates if its needed. We don't dump weights though, we might get stuck on the bottom and everyone scrambles to help you but unless you hurt yourself on the way down I don't see why you wouldn't be able to get most of the weight yourself to aid in the re-rack

The big one to me is that his upper body was lurching forward even as he started to ascend. Once you get out of proper positioning it's really hard to recover and finish the lift.
